@Spursidol foreign team and less that what we paid for him. Don't know the exact figures though
I assume you don't know the team in for him then? If bid rejected it could mean 2 things - the bid not high enough or we don't wish to sell. I think Rodgers, AVB and Tim really rate him, he must be doing stuff in training to warrant quite constant selection in the face of underperformance. Brilliant for Swansea and we've only seen glimpses of inspiration from him. If he doesn't start performing soon though then surely he must go.

I wish Siggy would gain some arrogance, usually speaking it is the arrogant players who are the top dogs and generally at the world class ones. Gain some arrogance and try and become the boss of the team dominating the opposition, asking for the ball every time and who know what he could achieve, I love Siggy and still feel he can be awesome.

Some nice things here and there from Sig but hasn't been anywhere near consistent enough. Loved his through ball for Bale in the NLD last season for example.

But he just drifts out of games too often for my liking. I honestly thought he would of scored a hell of a lot more goals for us by now. Has it really happened for him.

Happy enough to keep him as a squad option and he's bound to play in the Europa League but if we received a nice offer for him its bound to tempt us.

He should be in a more 'free' role if you want to get the best out of him. Isolating him out wide makes his job tougher than it needs to be. If you let him work outside and inside it presents a better opportunity for him to get into advantageous shooting positions. He plays in a role similar to this for Iceland. The difference between Iceland and Tottenham is that on the whole we have better players and he's not going to be the focal point. I'd love to see him play off a main striker like Soldado/Adebayor to see what could develop. I think he's got the ability to flourish but I doubt we will ever see it.

So, I hope this is okay to bring up, but we previously had this ITK from The Goat:

The Goat hears that the club have had talks with a young striker playing in Holland. No other details were given but said he was young (under 21) and that it would be as a squad player not a major signing.

And today, this "Transfer Scam" article came out (Linked at the bottom of this post). The transfer scam involved Luc Castaignos and it appears that we were somewhat interested but ultimately suspicious. Castaignos fit the bill and was one of the strikers many mentioned as a potential fit (U21, plays in the Eredivisie for FC Twente). Now, I couldn't recall if we later had confirmation on the striker target as I know Piotr Parzyszek was a popular name thrown around. But, if this was who The Goat was alluding to, I think it definitely shows that source who provided the information had some reliability given how the pieces fall together despite it being a transfer scam.

If it was later confirmed as a different striker and not Castaignos, I apologize. Still, it's really interesting shit.

Anyway, here's the article: http://www.telegraph.co.uk/sport/fo...Castaignos-reported-by-Tottenham-Hotspur.html

If someone offered less than what we bid for Siggy, I wouldnt have accepted it either. He's like 23 or 24. Cant accept anything less than breaking even.

Also the fact he's a homegrown where we're running far closer to the quota than we have before. Hope whoever it is pays up though, as I don't see him working for us while he could be a great contributor in the Bundesliga.

Love the TS quote about vlad being pissed, "he was unsteady on his feet, it's windy over there"

Brilliant

It's nice to see a manager who understands that creating a comfortable atmosphere in the squad will go a long way in improving our performances. AVB would have probably had Vlad executed by the youth team to make a point. I'm sure if such behaviour started to have a negative effect on a player, he'd reel them in.

As for our transfers...I just want the window to shut. A striker to (eventually) replace Defoe would be nice, as would a decent LB, but more than that I just want Capoue to stay. We're lucky to have him in the first place.

There is no home grown quota. The quota is to do with foreign players in the squad. We currently have 16 foreign players and 2 of them count as U21s so we are fine in terms of quotas in our squad.

People keep getting confused over the whole squad quota thing. We can have 0 home grown player if we wish but we can't have more than 17 foreign players.

Everyone wanted us to play 451 or 433 yet don't think ade, soldado, kane, coulthirst are enough for 3 months?

Not sure what the "doh" rating was for guy? We have defoe till the end of feb amd coulthirst is on a month loan? So we'd have those strikers for march, april and may.

he was one player who was scoring under AVB though. relatively speaking he scored a lot.

Transfer scam involving FC Twente striker Luc Castaignos reported by Tottenham Hotspur - Telegraph
Spurs have reported attempts to sell them a player involving a rogue mandate and a forged siganture.

So the window is that boring, even people who don't own players are trying to sell us them :(
