Was just pointing out the fact that you would think that a thread with ITK in it's title would have actual ITK. Then again this is SC after all.

if there is ITK then it is discussed in this thread, when there isnt any then this thread does drift.

There have been some things that have been posted in here that have been moved to other parts of the forum as there are already topics on them or it has been felt that it is better suited to be in that part of the forum.

Edit:

You got a D'oh for comparing Vucinic to Emile Heskey, clearly you've never seen the guy play. (I dont normally dish out Neg ratings, but as you did, I obliged)

Comparing in the sense that neither of them are goal scorers.

I find it sad, that we are still harping on about getting a striker, when we spent £26mil on one only 5 months ago :(

Not really, we could easily have accommodated a second striker signing in summer even without JD leaving soon. Soldado will find the net soon and though we had hoped for more he's scored a few and put in some decent performances

Tim has stated today that there is nobody coming in, I am inclined to believe him.
I do think that we needed to replace JD though.

Yeah, we really seem to have a blind spot with strikers. I think its because we spent so long trying to sign one, everyone can't conceive of us having quality on the bench.

Other clubs have regognised how inportant it is to have competiton up front. Utd under Fergie and currently. City and Liverpool. Even Everton and Newcastle have recognised it and are trying to strenghten there.

Only Arsenal and Chelsea seem happy to stick with a smaller number of strikers. However, they are brimming with quality attacking goal scoring midfielders.

United have five: Macheda hasn't played at all, Hernandez is very much fourth choice, and Welbeck wouldn't have figured nearly as much if RvP and Rooney had been fit. Liverpool have six, but two haven't played at all and Aspas and Luis Alberto have barely 600 minutes between them. At Newcastle the on-loan Remy and Gouffran play most games; as the three bozos have one goal between them, it's easy to see why. Everton have seven; only two have played (well, Koné's had the equivalent of one game). Arsenal have nine (and half of them are broken).

So, really, to say that other clubs have 'competition up front' isn't really accurate at all. Only City can truly be said to rotate, and doubtless the wages they pay have a fair bit to do with keeping everyone happy; what will happen when Jovetic comes back?

It's notoriously difficult to sign a striker in January unless you are willing to pay well over the odds, and even then you're likely to wind up with a complete donkey eating into the wage bill. Seriously, if Defoe were not going we would not be discussing this.

He has said that Eriksen, Siggy, Lamela and even Chadli can play behind the striker.

Also we have Holtby, Demebele, Sandro, Paulinho, Eriksen, Capoue and Bentaleb who can all play in central midfield. Even if we did sell Capoue we'd still need to free up some of midfield by having one of them, most preferably Eirksen, behind the striker and give other some much needed playing time, especially when Tim likes to play 4-4-2.

Like everybody else I would like a striker but I'm more concerned about the LB situation tbh. Rise gets injured and we are back to playing our best CB there because Fryers isn't ready to be 1st choice at the moment.

Also Rose cannot play every game in PL & EL so looks as though we will put out a weaker side in EL or again play a CB out of position.

Only spurs could make 7 signings in the summer and still lack adequate cover in a position.

He actually said unlikely, I would imagine though if Baldini could tie up a deal for a target player then he'd be happy. I don't think we should be chasing players we don't really want to fill a need but equally if we can do a deal for a player we do want especially where we are thinner in terms of quality then lets go for it

*Enters thread, looks sneakily left and right, in the hope of spotting a few Sherwoodites, seeing one or two dotted about decides to say………..

It's obvious we aren't going to be signing anyone until the summer when our proper manager takes over.

*Laughs like a maniac until collapsing with exhuastion, lies there for a short while hyperventilating, recovers, gets up and leaves thread with a jaunty walk, hands in pockets, whistling snatches of 'La Cucuracha'

If we can't come to a consensus of who we want, how can we expect Levy to buy?:)

like chelsea united wont sell to us.. dont care who in charge of that club..no time for them.. they dont sell to rivals or even clubs near them.. only ones they sell are ones past it and no good to anyone..waste of time talking about hernandez

I wouldn't be so sure :cautious:.

While FFP is unlikely to do much to change the balance of power the restrictions it places on the amount a football club can run at a loss will have a significant effect.

Now, if you want shiny new toys, you can't just stick your old toys in the attic or give them to the charity shop; now you have to stick them on e-bay and get as much as you can for them.

We've already seen Chelsea sell Mata to Man Utd. I don't buy all that bollocks about Mourinho playing mind games and not considering Utd as a threat. Chelsea needed the money to balance their books. Man Utd had the deepest pockets. Case solved.

Expect plenty more of this in the future; the days of not selling to your rivals are over.

Can we start disallowing Sportsdirectnews links in player threads? We seem to have far too many threads started with them. This is directly from their website:

I'm sorry for this post, but it really bothers me for some reason. They are probably raking in the hits from our site.
