Because he's a good player that we are definitely better than without him? Kane would prefer to be in another club too yet he's playing for us and no one have an issue.

Kane can and will motivate himself.

He wants the PL records, the golden boots, the England caps, the trophies.

Ndombele can barely be arsed to keep his fitness vaguely in check.

'Everyone will say PSG had the best window but I think #Spurs. I would like to congratulate Fabio Paratici, for me, the best at his job in the world. Also Nuno & Daniel Levy. To keep hold of Harry Kane is huge.' - Romano on Twitch just now :cautious:

So incompetent to go into the season with just 1 recognised striker. I know Rome wasn't built in a day and we are going to need a few transfer windows to sort our squad out, but when there are such blatant holes in our squad e.g. no second striker, it really is hard not to get so frustrated! We have had a good start to the season, yes, but we are an injury or 2 away from not a fun time. I love our signings we've made but it's so annoying seeing the obvious holes still in our squad.

Yea, I think first team wise we would all like to improve two positions, the RW and one of the midfield three. Those two are prime targets for the next two windows. Squad wise, we need a backup striker. So, all things panning out well, we might need 3 transfers in Jan/next summer to finish off the first 11 and squad. We will still have some clearing out to do, but not as much.

With all realism, the day we are happy with our first 11 and squad is the day we should be fighting for the title. I think we can fight for the top 4 with our current team and squad. I would not be surprised to see someone that everyone is expecting to be nailed on top 4 struggle. Seems to always happen.

Last season is water under the bridge. Why are we comparing to a mess of a season that saw, almost except Kane Son Hojbjerg Lloris, no one's place was safe. No one got the run of games they need to create, defend or score

Forget last season - Now, New manager, New season, run for the players like Dele who we know are good enough to score 10+ at this level.

Stop the pessimism on creativity etc etc. Nuno has shown , he is able to find solutions with what we have. Once new players are integrated, things will be fine. Yes, would be awesome to get Traore over the line.

But for the mess we were in May-June, we are in a far better place.

If Emerson is last of business, so be it. I am done being pessimistic over the state of the club.

Its not pessimism, its realism. The City game was good, but the way we battled and scraped wins against Wolves and Watford is not sustainable. Our main creative players are either not bothered (Ndombele) or will be missing large parts of the season (Lo Celso). Dele isn't creative enough, and way too much pressure to put on Gill this season.

JJ has confirmed 'that's all folks' after Emerson.
Another masterclass in raising expectations, then bursting them on the final day by the club.

This has been a 6/10 window for me. Sure, we’ve moved a few of the old guard on, but probably not enough. And we’ve bought potential in youth, a very promising CB and hopefully a decent RB. But, we’re still lacking a creative midfielder and a forward. We have a utilitarian midfield, but barring Son and Kane a fairly blunt attacking lineup. Almost like a Liverpool lite. Rebuilds take a few windows, most of us understand that, but given all the noise about this being a buyer’s market, it feels like we’ve really missed an opportunity to strengthen elsewhere. And I don’t think anyone should count on Ndombele coming good. He’s way too inconsistent, way too precious to become a mainstay for a midfield crying out for creativity.

I’m disappointed, but at least I can get on with the day now

Really hoped for an established CM/AM someone who can control the ball and create as this imo has been a big issue since CE left, as long as we got that I wasnt too worried about the Striker situation.

Romero is a very good signing and Gil looks very exciting in the short amount of time we have seen him play maybe he can be a no.10 and playmaker in time.
TW has been a 7/10 for the future, 5/10 for the current season for me. DoF has been a touch disappointing I guess.

Thanks to all the ITKs the information provided has certainly made for a fun summer on the forums here :)
