For all the people in the "get a backup striker in at any cost no matter how shit" re: the Éduoard posts in here.. Have we all forgotten about Dane Scarlett? He's been in and around the first-team squad, on the bench in the league and starting ECL matches.

I'd much rather have a massive talent, homegrown no less, on the bench than Odsonne fucking Édouard at 15 million.

Has there been any recent evidence of success in promoting youth strikers over massively over priced foreign forwards?

Note: Sarcasm level 10

Tell you what we've had a terrific outgoings happen this season though haven't we. Looks like Aurier will shortly be joining that list.

I think possibly Winks is the only name that people universally wanted out along with the names that have moved on. He's staying so in terms of what happens on the pitch, I hope he comes good under the new manager and provides something and if that's simply a warm body on cold conference nights then that's fine by me.

The sad joke is if Ndombele can be motivated and hit his potential then bar a striker the squad is looking pretty good. Sigh.

Wouldn't surprise me if it was either Emerson or Traore within the remaining budget.

We signed Emerson which essentially kicked Aurier out of the team.

Better bid for Traore had to involve Levy.

I thought he was their main striker as well
If that has changed since the new manager arrived, I don't know.

But if it has, then he could be moving to play more regularly

It hasn't changed as he has played from the start in all their league games this season. He might want to try something else. Who knows.

Levy is something else.

He hires a DoF, puts it about that he’s only handling the Kane transfer. We hear lots of positive news about three or four more signings after the early flurry, ones that would address key weaknesses in the squad. The most reliable ITK are uniformal in expecting those signings on Monday/ Tuesday, then fuck all- minus a RB. No attacking player, no midfielder. Because he decides to revert to type and call the shots.

It wouldn’t be so bad if this was the message from the off, but it wasn’t. He’s a bullshitter. He had a chance to invest in much needed players in a buyer’s market and he fucked it up again

Lovely bloke though.

Yep, I’d say Winks and Doherty are the deadwood that’s left although N’dombele seems to be heading into that list as well unless he decides to pull his finger out.
