We (well, The Goat) should have posted this two or three days ago but for an assortment of reasons, he never got around to it.

Very interesting. Given the press are a few days behind I would pay very close attention to any press links that come out today. Chances are if there are any new or more advanced looking ones then that's our man. Also given JJ talking about it openly and if this player has been at the training ground I would think an announcement wouldn't be far behind.

Or pinch of salt blah blah.

I love how fast we're moving this window. So refreshing. See a target, agree a fee, get them in. Jose's influencing Levy big time.

Might not necessarily be that. Could easily be the first time since Redknapp we've had someone who is realistic about who we can get in, and it sounds like Jose is capable of picking a player from a less glamorous batch.

Yeah pragmatism on Jose's part is clearly helping too. Also he understands about squad balance too, which means the 'less glamorous' signings might be exactly what he wants.

If that striker comes in and they're not Fernando Llorente then i'll officially be happy with the squad as it stands. There'd be no obvious weaknesses at least. Just gotta hope we resolve the Ndombele situation before October so we don't take one step forward and two steps back.

I can't wait to find out that a striker with a name completely unrelated to beverages whatsoever was literally at the training ground having a latte.

How can anyone hate Diego Costa I recall how he got an Arsenal player sent off in 2 games just from getting in their heads. he’s a bastard and definitely not a nice guy!! Exactly what we need shame he was shit last season for athletico could be a bit of a punt

Costa wouldn’t necessarily go down as under the radar would he? Exciting ITK though, can he play today?!

I hate posting shit like this but I can understand Costa and Milik but if you can't explain why your guess relates to a possible cryptic then you're just throwing out random names and gonna end up getting banned, though I think the Quasion/crossiant guess was fantastic.

Latte is Milk in Italian so Milik is a good shout, plus he plays in Italy

Milik has been with Polish national team all week.

A&C said wasn't posted earlier for an assortment of reasons. You could say an assortment is a little mix, so could be Alex-Oxlade-Chamberlain.
Obviously it is Costa, and almost certainly Diego, very outside chance being Douglas.

Will just be our luck, he turned up at our training ground with Covid, passed it to a few of our players (the ones not on International duty, they will all have to isolate now, and he won't sign anyway)

The Italian connection and milk being the primary ingredient in a latte after the espresso makes me wonder if it’s not specifically MILiK.

Edit: reply directly above mine makes my wondering decidedly moot...

Did the Goat’s bleat actually mean a potential new striker was literally at the training ground?

I assumed it was figurative, a way of using the word latte in a cryptic...
