TN ‘may’ prove more difficult to shift than one can imagine. Will not share here why, as it will get out everywhere. Do not get too excited on the target man we may end up landing. He can definitely do a job. Not Troy Deeney. Forget any strikers from Bournemouth. We won’t be paying those kind of figures. Neither, whiist I am at it, can I see anyone paying 25m for Wilson.

The key seems to be the striker can do the job that he's being bought in to do.
If JM et al find the one that they want then we shouldn't be too quick to judge, but get behind whoever it is! (I know this is SC)

I just hope we have a contingency in place re sales to free up squad space of TN can’t be shifted.

As for the target man, doesn’t need to be too exciting, just needs to allow us to not have to run Kane ragged or change system every time Kane is unavailable.

Cheers for the update herc.

Well its them imperative we engage with Ndombele and motivate him ready for the season. Considering we needed to strengthen midfield we can't be a player down due to this. For me the midfield still needs strengthening irrespective of Ndombele staying.

The signing of Hojbjerg doesn't magically transform our midfield.

That sums up our window so far, while maybe not exciting, all 3 so far can definitely do a job and I'm very happy with that.
This isn't a window for flashy, big money signings, instead we needed to be sensible and improve the team/squad. We've done that admirably so far.
Get a half decent striker in and I'll be a happy man, any further movement will just be a bonus.

Makes sense, we know Kane will be #1 striker and who ever comes in might get some cup games or sub appearances.

With Parrott out on loan and I think long term option I wonder if we will get an older striker in for a season or two to fill the gap while he is out on loan? Or on a short contract.

Well this is where I disagree.

We've had YEARS to prepare for what happens with or god forbid after Kane.

We even got rid of a old log that could fill in from time to time.

Why can't we bring in competition? We seem to be the only top club that obsesses about the player needing to be 'back up'.

Thanks mate, at this point I think we all trust Jose to bring in sensible signings that will be reliable to do a job, compliment the squad and won’t break the bank. TN is the perfect example of a transfer fee not dictating what you get from a player.

I’m going to guess he’ll be a difficult to shift because he’s a lazy prick

I think it comes down to Kane wanting to play every minute he can. If we start dropping him from too many games when he is fit, I feel he will look to move else where.

Kane is very driven to be the best he can and break records in doing so, so wants to be on the pitch to score as many as he can.

It’s not great news that TN may prove difficult to move on, however perhaps one saving grace is that it’s the Euros next summer, if he wants a space in the national team he knows he will have to prove himself via his performances for us. Let’s hope if it comes to that he will up his attitude and game. Thanks for the info Herc ?

Because Harry Kane’s a top 3 striker in the world so nobody is ever being brought in to provide him competition because there simply is none.

I'm happy about this news, I said last night I hope we can't shift Tanguy, obviously it's a risk that the situation will become toxic but he's had difficult moments to overcome in the past and I hope we can make the most of a bad situation and turn things around. Striker situation understandable. As far as I'm concerned we had 2 problem positions in the squad and that was RB and DM and we've got them sorted pretty early in the window. That's great. I know we're still eyeing up the Korean CB and if we can add him and a backup striker who can do a job then it's the window that I anticipated.

Happy to reply to this in Kane’s thread if you care that much about your point, but I was not referring to, or inviting conversation about, our recent failings or otherwise to address the ‘other striker’ issue.

Cheers for the info Herc, as long as the striker can chip in with a couple goals and deputize for Kane we can't really complain about who it may be.

Thing is. People wanting to think for a future without Kane and wanting proper competition now - which in my view is unrealistic with our budget - are also forgetting that in Jose and probably Levy's mind if they can bring in a target man back up who is good (but old) and help in the short term it will then help the club to hit its objectives this year..in doing so, they also get Kane to stay cos he's happy to see the club delivering again. Like it or lump it, Jose isn't worrying himself with 3 or 4 years down the line and with our clubs trajectory neither shod we as fans. Success now will sort out the future in any case

Amazing that every fanbase think their club is the only one who can't buy/sell/have money or have decent options for every options.
Apart from Man City and Jesus, there isn't any other club in the world who have back up who could be considered as competition for striker scoring +20goals every season.

Interesting info from Hercules. I wonder if the ‘difficulty to shift’ has anything to do with the ‘attitude’ issues that I’m pretty sure were referred to in previous ITK?
