The manner it has gone down is embarrassing for us all. However it may well be a bullet dodged in 12 months time I don't doubt due to the slimy nature of his management team he would have been being hawked around all the big clubs and leaving us looking for another replacement. I am sure AVB and Baldini have a short list of players for that role that were being considered before Willian came onto the market.

Willian would have been a great bonus yes but if you look at lennon, chadli, Townsend and possibly lamela ( who kows anymore ) we have excellent options in them areas so it's hardly panic stations is it?
All it has done is make me realise my naivety to take itk as gospel.
Next time I see "deal done" it doesn't mean deal done

Sadly I don't think it's just a 'number 10' that we need. One of the advantages with Willian was his ability to play from the left. Assuming we get Lamela (please God), we'd have him, Lennon and Townsend to cover the right wing. We've only got Chadli and Sigurdsson for the left wing, unless I'm forgetting someone.

If depends on formation and versatibility, Townsend can play left wing in 4-2-3-1. Of coz in 4-3-3 Townsend is better employed as inverted right forward. I believe Rose can be pushed to play as LW too, with Vertongen or Fryers covering LB if required (or Coentrao if he joins).

Yep well aware of his agent and how they operate. Just pointing out to those having a pop at ITKs that they have limits to what they can post on these forums due to journos fishing trips. Agent may have leaked the medical but the press splashed it all over the media.

Willian always seemed like a nice bonus, completely unexpected that he'd even be on the market this year, so not someone I'm gutted to lose. I always thought 30 mil on him vs 10-15 for Eriksen seemed a little off. So good riddance, hope he enjoys the bench and the absolute raining of boos he'll get at the Lane year after year. Time to move onwards and upwards, there are plenty of other targets or fuck it, tell Madrid to fuck off and keep Bale. This is still the most amazing window I've had in my time as a Spurs fan, I won't let this temporary letdown ruin that.
