When we sign them then it will be fact. Re dembele He was monster until 207-2018 and that is why i said we are no better than previous seasons.
If he’d said ‘we’ve signed so and so’ etc then you’d be right. He has said ‘we’re being told’, ‘looks likely’ so they don’t have to happen to be facts in this case.
Well if you want to go back several seasons rather than the last one (which is what we’re currently trying to improve on) then that’s up to you, but it’s a fallacy, for example Tripper was a better previous seasons than he was last season as well, but literally no one is moaning about him leaving.

The truth is we can't really question the club during the window. None of us are privy to its inner workings. ITK is to be taken with salt and information can be right, wrong or somewhere inbetween. It is always shared with good intention.

We do have history. And a transfer window for Spurs is always different to most clubs. Although the window close is drawing to an end we could go on and sign multiple targets. We could quite easily not sign anybody else.

I suppose the point in making is that those that say 'stop bed wetting' and those that say 'we've been here before' are both absolutely right. So just make sure you make your point with respect.

Some serious over reactions in here!

It seems that way with some of our fans...levy wont back poch, levy smashes our transfer record, they all rejoice, we havent signed le celso...levy is a cheapskate, dybala links levy is a cheapskate and wont sign him. Its getting all a bit boring

I have no issue and complain re ITK. But you are saying that others are panicking even though the itk said so and so. Well we know DL for sometime now and things got the same this TW just like others. Its only 10 days left and as usual we haven't done our desired job. We have to panic as we desire to win things just like liverpool did.

Dybala is not causing panic if it happens its good if not we could retain CE which is also good. Re transfer record, we just signed a first teamer after drawing blank in last two tw. And it was not that big of a record as our prev one was mere 38 to 40 mil

Our target signed for another club unfortunately. The other one also signed, in this case, Man Citeh. We were confident, but didn’t work out on either. Very slight possibility on one coming in near the end of window. And they wouldn’t be ready for first team for at least a year, if it happened. Not a certainty though.
The Man City one sounds like Thiago Almada, the new “next Messi”. He does look good though, so shame.

I haven’t said others are panicking (I do think they are though, but it’s their choice), we’ve done a darn sight more towards our desired job than in the previous season and things still look positive going forward (especially from what we’re being told), we all have the same desire to win things and do well.

I actually don’t know what has changed. Our targets were and still are Lo Celso and Sess. By all accounts they should happen.

Dybala, none of us really hand on heart thought we would get him without someone possibly CE leaving.

Rose was left at home to find a new club.

Please tell me from the new ITK what has changed to make you all panic?

Still unable to agree a fee for Lo Celso & we 'could' sign someone by the end of next week, doesn't exactly fill you with confidence does it ?

How anyone is managing to find a positive in that ITK that was posted earlier is beyond me yet again inside the last two weeks of the window.

My only issue is that the main argument for little activity has been that we're part of a weird gap in the market where there are plenty of assets downmarket and plenty way out of our budget but very little within our price range that would improve us.

While I consider this logic a little suspect (there's been plenty of value to be had and a lot of it had by ourselves) at least there was acknowledgement of an issue.

We know exactly who the targets are this time. Exactly who would improve the team. They've been targets for the entirety of the window. Players who we wouldn't have dreamed of are now happy to play for us and the fees are what everyone else is paying. Wages are well within our structure too. Arsenal, the supposedly skint Arsenal that we were laughing at till now has just spent £100m.

Now I'm not as excited about Dybala as many on here. I feel he's a luxury player and his fee could be better spent elsewhere on the squad. But the point isn't individual players. The repayment terms of the stadium are widely rumoured to be £50m a year it's not a crippling amount for an organisation with the revenue of Spurs.

Think a lot of it is to do with the history we have in transfer windows and how this is starting to feel all so familiar. Given Daniel Levy’s history in transfer windows it’s hard to trust that we will get the deals we have been linked with over the line. He talked the talk this week about money being there now to strengthen the playing staff but the noise coming from today’s ITK doesn’t seem to reflect this.

Also the fact there is still a lot of work to be done on our squad! Given how we finished the last 4/5 months of the season in the league. Ndombele was a great signing but we need more than just him.

a negative post by a negative poster, followed by a lot of ratings from the same old people that will always think negative, in fact I named 3 of the ratings before even viewing them.

Hercules said from the start Clarke, Ndombele, Sessengnon and Lo Celso will not need outgoings to help bring them in, and that included Eriksen staying. Sess has been injured so wouldn't of been able to join the group on tour, and Lo Celso was involved in an International tournament and his 3 weeks rest is due to finish this week so wouldn't be on the tour.

just because we don't sign the players within hours of the ITK comes out, people go into panic mode. with Dybala he would tie in with other information given at the start, the 4 named wouldn't need us to sell, others would require a sale.

at least 1 thing is guaranteed if Rose goes and we don't replace Trippier the moaners will be back on Levy's back.

Despite all the positive ITK sounds like Levy is reverting to type, so far we have had a net spent of 40m this year (TN in, JC in, MD out, KT out) GLC in will take that up to 90m. So according to Ghostfarmo if we want Sessignon and Dybala we have to sell to balance the books. 90m net spend over a 2 year period for a club of our stature is ridiculous, Villa have spent 125m this year, West Ham 100m last year and 75m this year, how can these clubs do this but we can't having qualified for the CL 4 years running and just announcing an massive sponsorship deal.
Ambition off the field but not on it.

so did Fulham spend a fortune, Villa had no choice 9 players where on loan and went back

Yeah I hope you're right mate. It's just that if Alderweireld did leave late on, we'd be ideally needing a CB, LB, RB and another CM and you would like to think of that as a minimum. Chuck Eriksen's departure in too and that's potentially anther CM/AM added to that list also, that's 5 players in a somewhat short period of time. That's a lot of work to do, especially for a club like us who for whatever reason seem to struggle to get signings over the line.

Like I said though I don't think it's time to panic, and the business that Arsenal seem to be doing have probably accelerated some peoples fears. I do however feel like we're gonna be short on personal somewhere in the team for the new season though.
Fekn hell i was alright til i read this. When do u think it is time to panic. ?

I am happy not to sign Dybala as long as Eriksen stays which I think most people are comfortable about, but the scenario where the uk transfer window closes on the 8th Aug and the spanish window closes on the 2nd Sept leaves us exposed to Real Madrid coming in for Eriksen in that time. What is Eriksen's attitude gonna be because he has stated that he wants to go to Madrid. RM could be deliberately using this ploy to make it easier to sign him cheaply. Are we gonna deny him his dream move and have an unhappy player?

We can only have 17 overseas players (effectively 15 in champs league) so we have to sell an overseas player to bring one in.
