Improving depth is improving the squad. We aren't needing to upgrade Kane, we are needing to provide him a backup. I do think that is more than plausible for a club like us to purchase today. Whether or not it happens, we will see.
If Chadli wasn't ours and played for [insert name of club] and we bought him for a backup for Kane, would you be satisfied? Do the maths.

Most are getting worked up unnecessarily. We already have reasonable backup and any further acquisitions would just be a bonus. My opinion of course

Interesting that the betting odds on Berahino to Spurs have remained very low despite the lack of noise this window and Stoke and Newcastle making concrete bids yesterday. We were barely a footnote in most talk of him this morning too.

Now Trix saying we have had encouragement to go back in, although I guess that means little unless the encouragement is coming from Peace himself...

Strange

Most people were shitting themselves when he played

I just sh*t myself generally, then when it happens to coincide with a suitable reason (i.e. Fazio either playing or leaving) it's no issue, which is obviously a good result

Yup Spurs Community as a whole suffers a large level of general bum-incontinence.

Nothing to do with Spurs.

No. While I think he could be similar to Giroud as a striker, there is no evidence to suggest that Poch will use him as one. He's a winger. It's the same situation where we brought in Son and the club tried to play him off as a striker after failing to purchase Berahino.

Unless this has been the story all along. Unhappy player. Leaves at end of transfer window. Blah blah blah.

I've had one and a half pizza today. I'm now laying down in the shower feeling like a horrible monster. Please Levy, make me feel better again!

And before you ask, yes, I'm naked, my phone is water proof and no, I'll not send dick pics since it would just be disappointing for everyone involved.

Like all of you, I would like us to get a quality striker in but I would still be happy if we don't. I'm very happy with the strong squad Poch has built for us, times have changed, we moved on and find ourselves in a very strong position on all fronts.
Long gone are the days when, we feared the coming of transfer window, when we used to lose our best players to the 'bigger' clubs.

Let's be optimistic and trust in Poch.

In the Berahino thread

Could be a wind up from Pearce though

If Pearce is winding up Levy after we've loaned them Pritchard, he's being a bit of a nobber really.

I think the two deals may be connected in a Berbatov-F Campbell sort of way.

Standard last day. Resignation that fuck all will happen, then a glimmer of hope which snowballs into great gangs of SC'ers on the hand pump, bashing away in excitement and anticipation which reaches a crescendo at around 10.30 only for everyone to lose their collective stiffies shortly after.

There then follows a thread ****ing off Levy in which he's threatened with all sorts of disasters and poxes which lasts one day. Wednesday morning normal service is resumed and people could go home and find him standing on a packing crate backscuttling your wife and you'd lift him off it, pat him on the head, sit him on your sofa and offer him tea and cake after he'd finished.

Going by past windows, I'd say we'd need to hear something particularly concrete before 5.30 for anything to get done, be it Berahino or otherwise.

Good article in The Times about the medicals that players undergo these days. Apparently the full deal takes hours. Running on treadmills, hamstring testing, it's really detailed. They spoke to Charlotte Cowie who used to work for us. When it comes to late signings, they ask the club what sections of the medical to skip. I think we'll be down to the 'warm and breathing' part soon.

Trix in last 20 minutes on bera:

"Just a bit of clarification while I have a couple of minutes. Thought this was dead, but am told we have been given some encouragement that a deal could still be done.

Am told we haven't yet given up on either bera or MD2"
