No that's not all we're doing, we're keeping his cost as high as possible by having him on tour. If you leave your player home then it doesn't leave you in a good negotiating position. Its not like he's not a professional anyway. We need to get as much as possible for him.

I have no issue with him being on the tour, but if he isn't going to be part of our starting line up for the season then I don't want him playing.

I want the guys who are going to play to get used to the system and playing with each other as much as possible.

My opinion over the last few days was that Kane would be leaving. My opinion hasn't changed and I've still heard absolutely nothing on the situation. What I have now been told (and it's not groundbreaking), is that if/when Kane leaves, we are extremely interested in Muani.

That sounds to me like the club are pushing it as much as Kane now. IMO I think Harry would have been relaxed to play another year and go on a free.

Key now is to sell him abroad and then reinvest well. Utd not having a striker yet worries me. There are actually decent striker options on the market with Vlahovic and Kolo Muani available (albeit at high prices), plus Toney in January. I wish there were more obvious wide attacker targets out there as I think Son and Richy would be good as 9s in Ange's system. The only sure-thing one I can think of is Kvaratskhelia at Napoli but it seems he is not for sale. Maybe a punt on Chiesa or Sancho in addition to a striker?

I really thought this would be the one time Levy's stubbornness would come through and he'd give Ange 6 months, maybe there was some truth in the Joe Lewis story after all?
Yeah chiesa would be the one I’d go for. Muani and chiesa in for Kane would be as good as we’d get.
If chiesa can reach his pre acl injury level he is so so good.

I hope so. WHoever agrees to come in, will have big balls and huge confidence that they can fill Kane's boots.

Hopefully someone can start a player thread on him as I know sweet fanny adams about him, thanks for the heads up though

Again if he's not playing it weakens our hand and makes it obvious we're ready to sell. Besides everyone gets minutes on tour anyway, even the ones who will be sold. Also iron sharpens iron, players will only get better for playing with Kane.

We are apparently haggling and trying our best to afford 2 CB's so i doubt we would stump up for both Muani and Chiesa as that would very likely be more than any fee we get for Kane.

Not necessarily mate, the club know 100% if/when Kane leaves they need to do something serious to appease the fans so I would highly expect the likes of Muani/Vlahovic to come in very quickly following his departure. I know we have spoken to Frankfurt & Juventus about both players.

Let’s hope the club has been planning for this eventuality and are ready to act to replace him swiftly, hopefully the short list is already drafted and the due diligence done!

Thanks as always mate. Best if we move quickly on him going and bringing someone in.
I do hope our winger targets are top quality options.

Sorry to be the bearer of bad news.

Prof on COYS re Kane:

"Despite playing on the tour, respecting Ange, appreciating our fans, working hard in training, etc, following a candid conversation with DL the expectation within the Kane camp is that he will not be a Spurs player by the time the window closes."

Are H's new black boots made by Adidas... who own a chunk of Bayern....

A sad day.

I wanted Kane in a Spurs shirt until he couldn't physically do it any more.

It's one of those situations for me, as an emotionally invested fan who took so much pride in Harry, that no resulting transfer business / discussion around business decisions / knowing 'what is sensible' etc is going to make me understand or be happy with losing him now.

Irrational. I know. But that's basically the definition of being so invested in Spurs, right?

Cheers for the news, i'm glad there is some proper clarity on it now, nothing worse than being in limbo, much better to have (relatively) bad news and look at ways to move forward from it. Personally i do think timing wise it's better for Ange to face it now than to have a year with Kane and then have to reboot again in 12 months.

On a purely selfish point of view, I do hope PSG come in with a great offer, a good lump of cash and maybe a player thrown in too. Sod Bayern.

No surprise there and I think most of us have accepted that he is leaving imminently. Him moving abroad is probably the best outcome we could hope for as fans and if we leave the door open for him to return in a year or two once he has won several league titles and possibly a champions league then all the better. The guy has had nothing but abuse from the media and other fans for years for not winning anything so fair fucks to him to be honest.

Until a fee is agreed the situation is delicate. Say we do as you say but Kane stays.
It's a precarious position atm.
