Was that the game when Dean Marney smashed two in? (or was it versus Everton the week before, we won 5-1 iirc)

This is what the true magic of The F.A. Cup is all about.

Saw loads of kids talking it about it being their first game yesterday.

Couple sat in front of me, one little lad couldn't have been older than 6, kept singing "Come on you yid army"

I had some young kids behind me, just constantly "come on you spurs".

Magic for them. For me as well! First time back at the Lane since our first home fixture in the season Ramos got sacked!

Still to this day get shivers when I catch my first glimpse of the pitch

Magical isn't it! Especially under floodlights. I savour it every time I go to the Lane!

I'm taking a friend to her first game in Feb, can't wait!

1948 versus Middlesborough in those days no segregation and all standing

I remember small kids being passed hand over hand (above heads) to the front I was ten yrs old and the special buzz made me a fan forever

Three sons all given special initiation first visit and we have now inducted my eldest grandaughter (she was ten)

She found it amusing that the first visit had to include a mug of tea and egg and chips in local greasy spoon

It was my girlfriend's first game on Saturday, she came with me and three of my mates.

We could only get tickets for the Paxton since it was FA Cup and they were scattered around because obviously they were season-ticket re-sales.

A group of fine gents behind us noticed that we were all talking to each other despite not sitting together, and offered to move and give us their seats so that we could sit in a row of 5.

Absolute gents the lot of them and it made my girlfriend's first visit to the Lane that much more special, she absolutely loved it.

So cheers to the fellows in Paxton Upper block 53 rows 7 and 8 for giving my girlfriend the perfect first visit

My first game was a UEFA cup game against Feyenoord (91/92 season iirc)

Can remember Lineker missing late on to take it to extra time (my memory's shocking, so may be wrong!)

Got pretty nasty outside after ther game. About 300 Feyenoord nutters charged at about 100 horse mounted police. Carnage!!!

Cup winners Cup QF 2nd leg. We lost 1-0 in Rotterdam and the return game you're talking about ended in 0-0...and yes their fans were a bit naughty...

Oh, and nice one, glad your daughter enjoyed it. Going to Spurs with Dad Uncle and cousins to this day remains my favourite pass time bar none.
