Son hasn't really found the areas where he's effective. Think Deki's been better overall, but we know what Son can do and it might shift quickly.

I’m the opposite, thought Deki has been overall poor. Son hasn’t been great but think he’s asked more questions than Deki. Udogie having to do a shit load as Son doesn’t offer a lot of cover. To be honest not great from Son or Deki with the space they’ve had.

Exactly what I've been thinking watching this game. Kulu has got the ball in deeper positions a couple of times with space in front of him but he can't eat up the ground quickly so can be managed in those situations.

Son isn't getting any younger and think we really need a pacey, tricky who defenders are worried about being isolated with. A peak Mane or Martinelli type player would make a big difference to this team.

There’s always the chance that he was still giving people a chance and they may have done well in training. So helpful to have them prove their limitations in a game situ

Hot take alert: for me the jury's still out on whether Son is now properly and irrecoverably on the decline after last season, or whether it was due to his hernia.

100% mate ideally a Right winger with real pace and quality who can score, if we sell Kane I'd like to see us sign one who can play RW and cover ST also.

The puzzle is taking shape a few more improvements and this will click nicely:

1. 2x 1st team quality CB's (VDV + 1 more)
2. RW with pace and quality who ideally can cover ST also but who pushes and possibly starts ahead of Kulu
3. ST to replace Kane if he goes
4. One more CM option of quality would be nice especially if we sell PEH, possibly Gallagher etc

Not far off from us being a serious team but as you say that livewire winger who can replace Deki or Son is key and Solomon on his own isn't enough especially with the pace and intensity that we play at.
