I don't know, it's nice to win but this kind of football is not Spurs.

He does'nt even have the players to play this way, we have a squad full of technical footballers and he's asking them to put it in the mixer and make the game physical.

We need to defend and attack by playing and looking after the ball.

Even more so without a natural striker.

I'm losing faith, I thought Mourinho was smarter than this.

Full of technical footballers? What team are you watching?
Outside of Ndombele, Lo Celso, Winks and Bergwijn then who's really technical? It's a team of mostly crocked athletes.
So tired of watching these kinds of games for over two years now. Makes me kind of dislike watching football in general despite my love for the club.

fucking hell, the guys been fire fighting since he arrived and somehow we are still fighting for 4th.

if we are still playing like this in a years time, then perhaps you have a point, but now, really?

I actually don't mind the pragmatic approach we took tonight. It's hardto watch at times but what else can he do with what hes got at his disposal? It very nearly worked for us and aside from the brain fart by Davies we may well have come out with at worst a draw, if not a win, as they may have come out a bit more chasing a goal and left some gaps.

2nd leg is 10th March, 3 weeks away. We might get lucky and Son will be back, or we will have figured out how to play without him and Kane by then.
Son is out for the season mate he won’t be back in 3 weeks.

Jose needs to stop with the sitting deep anti football.
You might as well say “Jose needs to stop being Jose.” He’s not gonna change. All this bollocks that he’s gonna unveil some brand new vision of modern football next season. Do me a favour. People are drinking the Kool aid.

He might get some good players in, and we might be a better balanced side with more individual quality, but there are coaches around now who are moving the game forward with ideas and application.

Think we were allright as It's going to be rough without your two main forwards no mather what.

We'll probably sneak it in Germany in typical Jose fashion regardless though ?

I've just sat through 90 mins of I'm not entirely sure what, tactic wise.

Is Jose seriously trying to play 4-4-2, despite having zero striker, and trying to shoehorn 2 players into a makeshift front 2????

It totally defies logic.

All it acheived was surrender the entire midfield 3rd to Leipzig, and then expect Winks (who I think is woefully average, at best), LoCelso (who is best in a 3 imo), and Gedson to play as right wing cover for Aurier!!

Someone please explain.

Can you imagine Harry Redknapp putting that formation out?? He would be getting called a dinosaur ? and lynched.

I can't understand at all what Jose was trying to achieve. 442 with Lo Celso and Winks in the middle. Dele and Lucas completely out the game. Gedson out of position on the right wing, Bergwijn lost on the left just doing defensive work. Awful.

I'm a massive fan of Mourinho and what he has achieved in the game. But I expected more. Yes we have players out, but we're playing like this every game, no matter the opposition we are giving up possession.

People blaming Mourinho make me laugh. We were never going to score in that match because we were playing with players who don’t have a strikers’ instinct, good penalty box movement or ability to hold up the ball and occupy opponent centre halves.

The owners (Levy, Lewis etc) are to blame for this mess. There is no one else at fault here.

Mourinho has done a very respectable job at steadying the ship after an absolutely disastrous start to the season but the club has wasted many transfer windows failing to identify and invest in a player/players to rotate with a guy who has been out for many months on end in each of the past 3 seasons.

It’s negligence, that’s all it is. This negligence is now biting us on the arse, despite a really solid effort from the new manager to keep us competitive.

I just don’t know how we’re going to score goals now. We need a miracle, not just in the Champions League but all competitions.

Forget the style of football; leave it until next season.

From now until May we have to grind and fight for every point. I'm just glad we've got JM for this, because he's good at it.

We totally lack presence in the middle. I don’t quite get it...we seem unable to control games no matter what side we play against.

Obviously we lack that hold up player up top, but that is not the entire problem.

Horrible watching us give the ball away again and again, doing basic mistakes
It’s due to Jose’s tactics he basically skips out the middle part of the pitch, it’s a hard watch but can be effective.

Lol, are you his mum or something?

I always praise when it's deserved, I always criticise the same. He did very well today. Nothing special first half. I'd expect any top flight keeper to save those. Had to make more difficult saves the second half and did so.

If you think a good performance like this is going to stop criticism of him when he shanks it out of play under little pressure, you're very wrong though.

Nah just a supporter and not a bullshitter.

Spot on. What is Jose supposed to do without son and Kane?Sure the tactics are negative and the football was a bit dire today but we have no goal scorers so very hard to create much of a plan.
