As a fan, a self confessed BSoDL until Monday, I now have to say he NEEDS to stand down, he has done so much for us as a club but as far as I am concerned, he has to leave.

Daniel I thank you for how far you have brought us, for the training ground, for the stadium for the CL football. Yes you made some mistakes but on a whole your tenure was progressive but with some ups and downs. I hope you remain in some form but now is the time to hand over the reigns.

For me, no he shouldn't go. It's a shit show, it'll hopefully die down and be forgotten about. BUT, it's a big BUT, if there was a slim chance of it happening, now's the time the crafty organisers would have got it through (rightly or wrongly) - and Levy got us a £300m a year seat at the table. That shows he cares more about the club (his wallet) more than anything else. He was willing to go to hell and back for it... for the club. Don't question his motives and intent, even if the method was ridiculous.

Yes because having no manager and no chairman at one of the most tumultuous times in not just football history, but world history in the last fifty years is exactly the right direction the club should go in.

Fuck me with a fish fork.

I get that people want blood but what do people think will happen if he leaves?

Do they think some kindly uncle will come in and suddenly start throwing money around Willy nilly?

Or that some philanthropic angel will buy the club and run it as some kind of ethical commune?

People need to get fucking real.

No but his whole rhetoric has been destroyed, his comments about the fans etc has been show up as lies. If you wanna get real here, we didn't get invited to this league for who we are, we got invited cause of our stadium. Do we really think there wont be real consequences for his choices?

By the way I don't have a fish fork, sorry.

The people resigning are the people who came up with the idea. How can Levy resign? If he didnt get involved and this thing went ahead then we would be behind forever and we'll become a West Ham while everyone was supporting Chelsea and Arsenal.

Yes
how can anyone believe a word he says from now on?
how can the supporters trust deal with him
let’s not forget this was Levy’s second attempt to turn us into a franchise...the move to Stratford was no gambit, he was serious
i don’t give a frack about a few per cent here and there on the spreadsheets
I want integrity and values returned to our club.
to achieve that he has to go

I’d like a full rundown of the candidates who are ready and waiting to take his place. It’s all very well saying ‘get rid of Levy’ but if fucking Mourinho is being lined up to take his place I’m done.

How's he going to go? I'm not defending or castigating him - simply looking at practicalities. Had anyone got a spare billion plus pounds to buy out ENIC?

Personally, in this situation I’d go with the “better the devil you know” school of thought.

EDIT: not so sure anymore if he personally signed off on that fully corporate statement of withdrawal on the website tonight...

Doesn't work like that. His position isn't tenable regardless of available replacements.

That's the textbook dictator's defense: "Dear Leader wants to resign and retire but there just isn't anyone capable of replacing Dear Leader in all his grandeur. Long Live Dear Leader."

In all seriousness though, Levy was faced with Sophie’s choice wasn’t he. Join the ESL and look a ****; or not join it and doom us to financial ruin.

Anyone thinking he (or any other chairman in his position) would ever pick option two is deluding themselves.

He shouldn't. If the project really started it was much better to be part of it than not.

And the reality is most people will soon forget about that ?
