You got some statistical evidence to back that up?

I was speaking more from a 'team dynamic' point of view. I can't think of a single striker at our club who is as 'team orientated' as Shane Long is. He runs the channels tirelessly, he holds the ball up very well indeed, and when you've got the likes of Eriksen, Lamela, Chadli, Dembele, Paulinho etc, all arriving from deep in support of our attacks, that could be one heck of an asset. Then there's the 4 year age difference, ie potential for longevity/to move on.

As I said in my response, we KNOW that Shane Long CAN score in the PL, but there's never any guarantee with Johnny Foreigner. Also, Quagliarella has been far from prolific over the last few years.

4 goals in 23 league games in 2011/12, 9 goals in 27 games league in 2012/13, 1 goal in 13 league games so far this season.

Long isn't much better/different. 8 in 32, 8 in 34, 3 in 15 so far this season. However, as I repeatedly say, those goals have come in a league he's used to, whilst Quagliarella hasn't been outperforming him in Serie A, so would, perhaps, be even less likely to do so in the PL? I've not seen 'much' of Quagliarella, but from what I have seen, I don't believe he's the same 'team player' as Long?

Quaglarella stas might be skewed a little becuase i don't think he has got many starts in the last couple of seasons at Juve, could be wrong mind. You are 100% right, Quag is more like defoe in that he will produce something literally out of nothing opposed to the industry of long.

To me neither offer us very much as we need to add a level of quality to our squad rather then fill it with cheapish middle of the road players.

Wouldn't have a clue, mate. I just took both players goal stats from their Wikipedia pages. Wiki is proper reliable

Your point?

Long is better than all of them atm

To be fair, it depends. I like Long's hold up play and ability to work with the team, but he really doesn't score much. Vydra and Berahino are younger and have more goals in them, higher potential. Anelka is old and Anichebe is just pony. I would still keep Long if I were WBA as you need more than 2 strikers but perhaps he wants to be top dog.

Agree which is why I said he is the best striker they have at the moment. But I don't get the point in Vydra he isn't good enough to be a starting PL striker that you can rely on but he is probably stunting the development of Berahino and I don't think Udinese will let them keep him for another season.

Also Anelka may get banned for the rest of the season, or has the FA decided to do fuck all?
