If we can move on Lamela and bring this guy and a back-up striker in, then we’d have some serious options!
Lucas/Bergweign
Lo Celso/Dele
Son/Benrahma
Kane / C.Wilson or MurquI or Watkins
Exactly mate.Spot on mate. Really think this is agents at work or just lazy jorno unfortunately but I’d absoloutley love it to be true as this kid is really special
I'm not sure why everyone is saying we should get Brooks or Eze and also saying we don't have room for Benrahma. All three players would be expected to play on either the wing or in attacking midfield [depending on formation].
I don't disagree with you either, especially regarding Sess potentially getting chances at winger and fullback. That is definitely a fair shout.I’m not saying you’re wrong, but you’re saying we don’t have 4 “wingers” to count on right now? Jose loves Moura/Son and has shown faith in Lamela and Bergwijn has shown real glimpses of quality. I get it if he feels Sess is to be groomed at LB and Lamela is surplus, but I’m not sure if there’s really evidence of that to this point?
I'm just speculating but I do think Jose values Lamela more as a midfielder than a winger [central midfield or #10]. He has primarily played more of deep, central role under him and in several matches since the restart, Lamela has been subbed on as a direct replacement for Lo Celso in central midfield. I think if we're likely to continue our counter attacking style, Jose is going to prefer quicker players on the wing than Lamela.
Because we reportedly need to sell players to buy players, I do get the vibe that we'd likely sacrifice Coco to bring in a new winger though [hence the Eze, Brooks, and now Benrahma links] considering he only has two years left on his contract and is now 28. He's a grafter and good squad player but these links suggest we are looking to bring in a younger player who could potentially be more of a threat to the starting XI.
