Maybe Dortmund...... which will pave the way for Sancho to Man Utd.......which will give us a clear run at Gareth Bale..?

100% agree that Zaha to Dortmund and then Sancho to United seems the logical play.

He has had 2 serious ankle injuries already, a very decent player and potential to step up to be a PL player, but feel he will be very very prone to injury especially as he would very heavily targeted in the PL, just ask Zaha his team mate. Its a huge risk for any club taking him, hopefully he doesnt suffer anymore injuries but i feel he will defo get heavily targeted due to the type of player he is and with his previous serious ankle injuries , it doesnt bode well

Brentford could really end up struggling this season losing two of their best players in one summer.
Brentford buy cheap and sell on, it's their business model. If they'd managed promotion they might have changed paths but I doubt it.

They do seem very well managed and are usually competitive in the championship.

After my post above did a bit more research and found they‘ve signed a centre forwarded called Ivan Toney from Peterboroug, who was very prolific for them so they have replaced Watkins.

Think he was only player they’ve signed though so not sure if they have someone in squad to step up and replace Benrahma or if they sell they then have someone lined up.

They also still have Bryan Mbeumo, the third player in their successful attacking three and he doesn’t seem to be linked away as much yet.

People questioned this link originally and after yesterdays outing, perhaps a few could see (if they have watched him play) why the link perhaps existed.

Yeah, you can see why.

We really need a player who can link midfield and attack. Someone who likes to get on the ball and plays with their head up, constantly probing.

Dele is not that player, he is a player you need in and around the box to have a moment of brilliance but hes no instigator.

Lo Celso, I think has an element of this but I also think his best attribute is moving the ball quickly and in tight spaces.

Ndombele, is better deeper and more or a player you need to start the transition or feed into the 10 spaces.

So, whilst we have a couple of options, we are an injury to Lo Celso away from lacking.

We have to bring in another option.

If it's true he is on his way to Palace then for the quoted money I think Palace have done alright.

Leaves us still searching for a player of similar ilk and no depth.

Squads a mess.

We have the best balanced and deepest squad I have ever known ever since supporting Spurs from 1981 and some people are still not satisfied. Beggars belief

Are you ok?

Whilst I would like us to sign a young playmaker at some point, Benrahma is certainly not him and this squad is certainly NOT a mess. Goodness me.

UPDATE - The post I was replying to was over a month old and before we signed half our players so I retract the first part of the below!

Wow. This is probably the most nonsensical / idiotic post I have ever seen on here. We have our best squad ever. I can only assume you have not been following the rest of the summer transfer window.

Lloris [Hart]
Doherty [Aurier] Sanchez [Alderweireld] Dier [Tanganga/CCV] Reguilon [Davies]
Lo Celso [Winks/Gedson] Hojbjerg [Sissoko/White]
Ndombele [Dele/Lamela]
Bale [Moura] Kane [Vinicius] Son [Bergwijn]
Benrahma does not get anywhere near our first XI unless you want to get rid of Bale or Son to make space for him.

Tbf when he made the post we haven't signed Bale, Sergio, Vinicius and haven't seen Tanguys progress.
Still it was over the top. ;)

Not nice of you putting CCV ahead of Tanganga. ;)

Before anyone else comments check the date it was posted. It was last month before we'd signed Bale, Reguilon or Vinicius.

Benrahma is definitely the sort of signing which excites fans. We all watch games hoping for someone to do something a bit special here and there in terms of skill. During a very poor period for watching Spurs, Ginola provided that excitement single-handedly at times.

As many have noted here, whilst that bit of magic is always craved by fans, Benrahma isn't likely to make our starting 11. Potentially not even our bench when you have Bergwijn and Moura there. Appreciate that his skills are likely ahead of both of those players, maybe more end product than Moura but is that worth us bringing him in particular in? Not at all.

West Ham may have a decent signing here, but their business is always tainted with shite. For every player they buy who comes good (not a given for Benrahma yet) they have another complete waster.

Benrahma has the tools to step up for sure. Skillful player with an eye for goal but he's not the finished article in terms of doing that consistently in the EPL.

Yeah, great signing for West Ham and I think he’ll be successful as they like a flair player down there ( actually one thing our fans have in common).

Would have liked us to sign him, but we simply have no room for him in the squad as we are overloaded with attacking options.

As in Eton Mess - so you mean: a delicious blend of ingredients sure to please?

If so, I agree

If not (and I can’t think that’s the case) I have no fucking idea how you could come to that conclusion, and if that were the case, it would CB where there was an issue, not AM
