Under-fire Tottenham manager Juande Ramos admitted that Tottenham's current position is 'not very comfortable' after their miserable start to the season continued with a 2-0 Uefa Cup defeat to Udinese.
Spurs are bottom of the Premier League and now looking for their first points in Group D of the European competition after they lost to an Antonio Di Natale penalty and a late goal from Simone Pepe - as well as having Jamie O'Hara sent off.
Ramos said: "The situation is not very comfortable. At this moment (morale) in the dressing room is not in a normal situation but they know it's possible to win in football and it's possible to lose.
"I'm very angry because I don't like to lose. We lost this match in this competition and now we have to win matches to qualify for the next stage."
Tottenham caused most of their own problems at the Friuli Stadium with a bright start being totally undermined by goalkeeper Heurelho Gomes's horrendous error which gifted Di Natale a 24th-minute penalty.
"In the first half we played okay but our goalkeeper made a mistake that turned the game totally in the wrong direction for us," Ramos added.
Mistake
"If there was no mistake from Gomes, if we scored the first goal, things would have been different.
"Of course this type of mistake can always happen, this is part of football. I still have to support my players and defend them."
O'Hara was sent off for collecting two yellow cards in less than a minute with over half an hour to go.
And although Darren Bent almost snatched an equaliser, substitute Pepe rounded off an 86th-minute break-away with the clinching second goal for the Italians.
O'Hara started the game after Ramos axed £15 million summer signing David Bentley following his criticism of Tottenham's early season form.
"I chose these 18 out of the 20 in the squad. I don't know what happened before the match.
"His reaction was normal, the same as the other players who are not playing," said Ramos.
Spurs did include Ledley King, who may now struggle to make Sunday's crucial league game against Bolton, while defensive partner Jonathan Woodgate also went off with a knock before the end.
