It took us five games to take us from being 12 points behind Chelsea to being 3 points off them.

We’re now 5 points behind them but both clubs have 18 more league games to go.

It’s not going to be easy, especially with other clubs vying for the CL spots too, but I’m not writing off our chances just yet.

Since Mourinho’s arrival at Spurs, we’ve picked up 16 points whilst Chelsea have had 9.

It'll be tough but I'm confident of a much stronger second half of the season

The notion that dropping out of the top 4 could prove a useful kick up the ass for Levy doesn’t hold much water with me.

He is not sitting on a wad of cash hoping he won’t need it, we have always spent money but within the limitations of what we earn. With the stadium comes more revenue and more capacity to spend even with the additional debt, but missing out on top 4 will certainly reduce the budget.

Mourinho will still be backed, if not in January than certainly in the summer. January will be more a question of the availability of the right players who could immediately improve us. That won’t be easy and if for example we are hoping to bring in Campos in the summer there might be another inclination to hold off.

But however you cut it missing out on top 4 would be a blow in terms of revenue and therefore budget and the Calibre of player we could attract. There is absolutely no up side.

Trouble is at some point to get top four we may or will be required to beat a top six side which we haven't not done yet and with our shitty defence looks unlikely.

Previous seasons I was confident, this season it's hope and dwindling confidence. Finally realised that is where we're at but it's taken a while to realise given how good we've been in the last 5 years.

We won't get it now I fear but if we don't mourinho will get it next season so let's not go crazy, it's a short term transition. Then it'll be the mourinho dip and it'll all go sour. I'm more worried about our 5 year horizon, none of these players will be here to take us forward aside from Ndombele. When poch arrived we had a young generation to fill a starting XI and we'll need to rebuild that post mourinho which is most concerning

I don't buy that player we can attract nonsense, we have never been able to attract elite players during 4 years of being CL regulars, it's just not how Levy operates

There is no upside but not qualifying every season is a reality for every team bar City over the last five seasons.

Therefore ENIC need to accept this and put things into place to mitigate the financial shortfall. As I said earlier, going as deep as we can (winning it too lol) this season would help.

So it definitely won't get any better being out of the top four if we struggle to attract the best.

That’s where Jose has to earn his keep and sort out the defence. I’m hoping that his record at having good defences at his previous clubs will hold us in good stead for the remainder of the season.

Against wolves I thought we were starting to see signs of this taking shape as overall we defended quite well although the midfield offered no protection at all, but yes he will need to sort it although it might come at the expense of something else in the team and some of the natives won't like that in fact some are happy to lose 4-3 providing they have seen an entertaining game.

Levy brought Mourinho in to get top four this season. Not next season.

If he was content for the club to spend a season in the Europa League and start overhauling the squad he'd have left Pochettino in place. That objective might turn out to be beyond us but that's why the decision was made.

True but that might not be realistic. At the very least get some players in Jan to help out. A manager can do a lot but it’s the players on the pitch that play the game and we are lacking in certain areas while our competition isn’t as much.

The scouting and player purchasing at this club hasn’t been good enough for 3-4 years, we have mainly the same team as Poch’s early days. Levy needs to either sort it out or get someone who will sort it out.

I will not be holding the manager responsible if we fail to get top 4 unless he is backed properly.

In Levy’s interview he said ENIC would not change their policy

I’d imagine the increased stadium matchday income will negate the loss of CL football should that happen

No way we go mad with the cheque book and actually try and buy a cup or League. God forbid
