Yep this season is gonna be null and void in my opinion.
No issue! This is why we have the retractable pitch! The aggro, for all the concerts and Boxing that spurs will have to work around if the season extends into June
The biggest issues aren't the timing of the events, it's about the use of emergency service personnel that are required for large scale events that just won't be available. No issue! This is why we have the retractable pitch!
It will also be interesting to see what happens to the transfer window. And if it is open during the same period. As every league will be dealing with it differently when would players actually move. If one league is cancelled but another delayed. It's going to be a mess.
Bottom six you say, we’d be in troubleIn reality nobody could begrudge Liverpool being given the title if the season were to end now, and it would be quietly amusing to see them miss out on a record-breaking points haul which they're very much on course for.
The bigger problem would be what happens at the lower end of the table - it seems unfair to relegate teams who've strengthened in January and are putting up a good fight to stay in the league. However at the same time, it'd be unfair to give Liverpool the title if you're not promoting the top 3 championship teams.
What could work - have a relegation moratorium for one season. So, top 3 teams from the Championship get promoted, with no PL relegations. Next season, the PL plays with 23 teams, with the bottom 6 being relegated at the end of 2020/21.
Repeat as necessary for each league below.
Or as it will be known for ever more - Scousey!!The season gets scrapped and with the scousers 25pts clear....that’s a whole new definition of ‘Spursy’
Well, if any cure isn't coming until next year and this is still floating about there are no options, it may well be that the start of next season is delayed and if we get that far, we just don't know and then there's no way they'll be able to play the rest of this one. So there is a chance, I wouldn't write it off so emphatically. It could be quite some time before there's any real clarity over this virus and what is the right thing to do about that, before anything else like football is considered. Right now I reckon every option has to be on the table.Absolutely no chance they just end the league seasons early. Euros will be moved to 2021 allowing domestic seasons to finish later.
I said in the Top 4 thread, there’s too much money involved. Teams fighting to come up won’t accept just starting the season again and people in relegation or fighting for titles/euro qualification will want to play the remaining games.
Delaying the Euros and pushing the domestic season is the right thing to do even though it comes with complications.

Lucky that Spurs already have contingency measures in place to deal with the transfer window.there is no good solution.
My best effort would be to void next season, given the likelihood the current situation will be dragging on well beyond August, and complete this season next season. And then start a proper new season in August 2021.
Obviously that has a problem with the transfer window... but seems the fairest way I can think of with the least lawsuits.

Can’t see that happening the PL and the tv companies will lose too much money. They’ll want it back up again before then and they usually get their way.
If they just call the season off and hand Liverpool the title it will always be remembered as the "The Corona Title". Of course Liverpool has already practically won it even if it is theoretically possible that they wouldn't if all the remaining matches were played.
If this were Spurs I'd be extremely disappointed. Not having an official closure and a 'definitive' title winning match.
Prolonging the season well in to the summer has huge ramifications on the transfer window and the next season so that's a tricky road to go down.
