No, got to be Bogarde.
Nine appearances in four years taking £40k a week twenty years ago, at least we managed to get 60 odd games out of our biggest dud.
Chelsea re-signing Lukaku also up well up there. Chelsea by themselves have more than a couple of absolute shockers, as have a lot of top teams in the past couple of years to be fair. Give it a couple of seasons and you'll be able to a list of a good billion £ of absolute nothingness (Pepe, Ndombele, Lukaku, Sancho, Anthony etc...).

He could have mental health issues is not known though which is why I suggested it could be an issue. We've never heard anything from the players side so we don't have all the facts. We only know the what as far as his actions but not the why. Nothing wrong with wondering why he's that way.
This scenario reminds me of dele’s recent times. Not saying it’s the same just that it’s a possibility with whatever odds anyone would like to attach.

I don't really count Chelsea flops as they just buy players wily-nily and it matters not if they fail. For us, Ndombele's uselessness was seriously damaging because we needed him. He was the Dembele replacement at a crucial moment for the club, but we had to go without that top class midfielder untill Bissouma because Ndom was still on the wage bill.

I really feel signing Ndombele was a sliding doors moment.

Ndombele has been a disaster. Well done to Jose for getting something out of him, but even back then I thought his contribution was overrated.

Not sure I like the excuses for the guy. Yes he could have mental health issues, however this has never been mentioned anywhere before, yet we have heard countless stories about his lack of professionalism and aptitude even from a young age.

Quite simply for me, if it comes out that he suffers with mental health problems then that's not nice & he will get the help he needs hopefully, however it is just as much of a possibility (maybe more) that the guy is just one of those people that can't be arsed to work hard, or make the most of his obvious talent. There have been thousands of players over time that have had this issue (Taarabt being a perfect example).

Sometimes, people are just lazy. With everything we have heard, this guy is one of them. Time to rip up his contract and move on. He will be lucky to play at any sort of level again in his career.

The reported 200K is unlikely to be anything like that figure in reality as we know these salaries are heavily weighted to performance. Appearance, Goals, Assists, Wins etc. That said, even if he's taking home 50k a week that's a lot of cash. Each time we loan, if saves us some of that cash but options are running out for all parties.

I wonder when the penny will drop with him. Probably sometime in his late 40s when he's 18 stone, his hangers-on have bled him dry for all his money, he's watching football on TV and realising he actually loves the game and could've been an all-time great, but blew it all.

This is Football. he'll get a coaching job. The football industry is blind to player/manager previous failures

Onions.

Bogarde was 30 when Chelsea signed him. Injuries played their part.

Ndombele was and is, just fucking lazy.

For me the biggest flop.

Why is it that everyone when it comes to Ndombele finds those "it could be" when we have had the facts all along every pree season that he is fat and the true issue has been is mentality. You dont act like a Baby like he did at the open traning like he did, that was a true sign of just utter bad mentality and manners. I have been jumped on by every singe Ndombele defender for that not to be true, and now Gala at least comes with the truth about him that even a blind man could see that he was overweight.

Should be able to sue him for beach of the contract in some ways.
Everyone judged Dele's attitude before he came out in his Neville interview with everything going on and then that should have reminded people to not judge footballers or any other human being's mental state, because none of us know what is truly going on behind the scenes.

No, you misinterpreted what I meant I’m saying because he is on 200 K a week he lacks motivation, he clearly has very little interest in football.

Life’s tough, sometimes you have to pull yourself though it, I don’t think that’s his issue I think it’s his lazy!

I’ve seen to many people die young, with mental health problems I’m not saying people shouldn’t becareful .

But I also see a lot of people use and hide behind bullshit!
A lot of people called Dele lazy once upon a time if I recall. Of course it could be laziness, but there could be an underlying mental issue causing what looks like lack of motivation and laziness

At this stage, he's a bigger waste of talent than Adel Tarrabt, who turned his career around for a while at Benfica.

The difference here is that Dele had several years of top class performances then nose dived dramatically. That he has now come out and explained the challenges he has faced helps to understand that decline.

N'dombele is quite different. He is clearly exceptionally talented however he has barely had 2 or 3 decent seasons in his career and has generally been known for poor motivation/laziness throughout his entire career. This is just who he is in my opinion.

Who has made excuses for him? I for one only asked the question whether it may be mental health or something going on with him. That's not an excuse.

Wasn't aimed at your post mate, more that throughout this thread lots of posters have stated that we can't question his attitude due to potentially having a mental health problem, which I disagree with.
