Tbh I think his performance was pretty feeble. Countless times he got the ball with either space or just Cathcart(a CB playing out of position) in front of him and he did nothing either side of when he got fouled for the freekick.

He wasn't alone but but he won't get a better opportunity to show something of his attacking game than this match.

Nowhere near good enough, wouldn't get near the starting line up of any other top 4 team, which says it all. Possible room for improvement maybe, but thats the risk you take, would much prefer an upgrade, he has had long enough imo and only shown flashes

So poor ! Got Cathcart one on one a good few times and didn’t try to beat him. This is an ageing centre back playing out of position! Needs upgraded.

Gets in great positions, battles hard, has some decent skill but has 2 major flaws, finishing and final ball. Kind of essential in his position.

Really like him and think he’s a confidence player but do agree with what people are saying that he got catchcart 1v1 a lot and didn’t go enough.

If we are to get back to top4 and eventually title challenge again then our wide men need to compare to the likes of Salah, Mane, Sterling, Marhez, Greenwood etc.

Son is certainly on that level, Bergwijn & Lucas are not.

Gil is a real talent but needs time. I think Traore would provide more threat than Bergwijn and Lucas but if not him then we still need an upgrade in that area

Just like Son, he's an average dribbler, however unlike Son his low confidence easily effects his performances, especially in key moments.

He's a better footballer than Son and Moura but Son is more consistent and Moura will dribble past three players in one sequence and then misplace (or mis control) a ten yard pass in the very next possession.

I'm hoping Gill gets a start in the league asap - "age ain't nothing but a number".

I think people tend to write players off way too quickly.

Bergwijn clearly doesn't lack ability or the physical attributes. I always tend to think that players that play in the position that he does thrive when their confidence is flowing, things are generally going their way, and the crowds encouragement give them further belief and confidence.
I guess that could apply to all players, but more so to attacking players IMO.

He came into a squad mid season, latterly, mid pandemic, and let's face it, into a pretty unhappy squad (or at best, not a buzzing one), got messed around a fair bit by JM, and never really got a chance to settle properly and nail a place down in the team.

Personally, I'd make a judgement after this season.

I’m really losing fate in Steve, even though his work rate is good he is basically non existent attack wise. Never challenges his man on 1v1, just backpass to reggy or one of the CMs, misses a lot of sitters and don’t have an accurate pass on him. Really hope that i’m wrong here, but Lucas at least can dribble a lot and create some chances every other game and, needless to say, Adama is already 5 times the player Steve is, being only 2 years older

I predict Stevie will do just enough to give us hope, then then thing he'll be 28 and everyone will wonder what happened. A bit like Lucas's career
