You can see Ledley's influence on him, he is staying on his feet a lot more letting the player try to beat him more and not selling himself.

This is the Serge Aurier I expected us to get when we signed him.

Difficult to beat, aggressive in the tackle and comfortable on the ball.

He's also superb at knowing when to track and get in front of runners when his head is firmly screwed on.
Same here! Though I felt a muppet after blowing his trumpet when he got here.

I have to admit i got this wrong i wanted him gone but yesterday was his best performance for us ever. If he can produce that on a regular basis he will be our first choice right back. However i still sense he has a mistake in him but thats probably because he has scarred me over the years with his rash tackles.
But that was an impressive performance vs man shitty

In fairness, he's 27 now so should be entering his prime anyway. I think a lot of it is just natural maturing and fitting better with Jose's counter-attacking tactics.

Controlled performance devoid of his sometimes rash tackles , must have read the overall team plan for a change and stuck to it. :)

Has great ability. Hopefully the rash, silly mad moments are for the most part behind him. At his controlled, sensible best he’s our no1 right back

Let’s hope Jose can keep his focus and concentration at yesterday’s level from here on in

Agree plus the fact that he doesn't have to play every single game this season. Bringing in Doherty has definitely pushed Aurier to a higher level.

I think it helps he’s not so exhausted physically by flying forward In games like this and he’s allowed to just focus on one thing

We can actually give him a break between games now. You're more likely to make mistakes when you're mentally & physically fatigued and for a long time, Aurier was the only recognized RB in our team and he was pretty much playing every game.

Yep, he's always had the talent but is finally putting it together it seems.

Wouldn't of minded one bit had we sold him in the summer.

But he's been so good this season and yesterday was his best game in a Spurs shirt...he was superb.

As one of his harshest critics I thought he had a good game on Saturday defensively sound and disciplined- he still gives away to many free kicks for my liking but if he can play like that he is useful.

Credit where it’s due, absolutely fantastic yesterday and has been under Jose for quite a while now, he was immense at old Trafford earlier this season as well. Glad that we kept him and have two very solid options at RB now.

Has Mourinho done the unthinkable and actually made Serge a competent defender?

On the evidence of this season, he’s a very good right back, and certainly the best at the club.
