So likely nothing to do with the brothers past conduct then and this is why I said it is ill-advised to make conjecture based on previous incidents.
It’s too early to make definitive judgements about this case. This new information doesn’t change that. It still seems highly implausible to me that a guy with a clean nose gets shot over a girl - it’s an incredibly rare occurrence that anyone gets shot dead in France. But this is not the time to continue this pointless debate. Sad situation. Love to Serge and family - the boys grew up in incredibly challenging setting with mum in the côte d’ivoire and an absent father. Serge has been through a lot to get to where he is today. Big love

Lots of respect for him to be able to play, but yet again showed why he is such a weak link in the side

Nah, he played fine. Can't blame him for that goal because he did what we always ask him to do (to simply shoots the ball away in such dangerous areas), unfortunately, there was a Newcastle player standing right there at Aurier's blind spot.

Some things are more important important than football, and we won. So who cares that he made a mistake he that led to their goal.

Apparently he is flying home tonight & presumably won’t be available for the rest of the season

Yeah, sounds like he wanted to help the team out for this game and then focus on the funeral arrangement and spending time with his family afterwards.

If he‘s flying off and will miss some games I wonder who Mourinho will pick for right back?

Tanganga?

Would be nice if there is some way we could show our support for him doing this somehow.

Especially the hate he gets off some of our fans!

his attitude has been questioned numerous times as has his character but what he’s done tonight for this club is a lot more than some of the players we have worshipped over years have done,

he’s shown a lot more heart and love for our club by putting his family’s needs and his mental needs second best to not leave us short.

Almost certainly, if fit.

And I do think he’ll be fit by Sunday since he’s been on the bench the last two matches.

Agree. Allowed us to keep the same winning team and some consistency of sorts!

Yeah I don’t get where people get this whole bad attitude thing. He’s the sort of player who will headbutt and two foot through brick walls for us let alone run through one! But the fans see what they want to see I suppose.

Serge gave an interview last Thursday https://www.ladepeche.fr/2020/07/16...entiment-de-haine-ou-de-vengeance-8982388.php

Serge was asked about the messages of support he’s received from the football world. He replied that his teammates had been particularly good and had dedicated the NLD win for him. He said he spoke about it with the coach and wanted to play in an important game - he knew he wouldn’t be alone on the pitch.

The death of his brother seems to have been sparked by him speaking to an ex gf. The woman’s current bf tried to get him to stop but Christopher ignored him. We know the rest. He was planning on getting married at the end of the year.

I realise I was hasty in drawing the conclusions I did. That was wrong and insensitive.

I wouldn't mind keeping Serge if he took a backup role. We need to upgrade the RB position but he's not a terrible backup.

I think he might be quite under rated, when he is good he has everything you need in his position.

if you go on who scored and rank the right backs who have played 20+ games. He's the 3rd best in the league.

He knows what Mourinho wants, he knows the club and is willing to play for us in a dark time.

if he's not with us next season it would be a real shame. He will get better and better for us I think.
