Sessegnon has made 35 fewer appearances for us than Ndombele has, and we've spent the last three years actively trying to get rid of Ndombele. That's a crazy stat.

Sess has had several good games as a LB but has flattered to deceive going forward. Just, IMO, doesn't have the mentality to be the player his talent would leave you to believe he could be.

Saw this bumped and assumed he was either almost fit or about to be sold, instead it's people explaining how they don't (or do) rate him - great.

Had some injury issues, that was covered also. :cautious: :facepalm::facepalm:

I genuinely dont know how people have the brass neck. It is almost as if this is a forum, where everything from Doctors to Dimwits share their views on specific subjects.

Absolutely, nothing to stop anyone regurgitating the same old stuff. I just hoped that the timing meant there was something new. (y)

I thought exactly the same, thought there must have been some update on him being back soon or someting.

If he adapts to Ange's system it could be a big bonus for squad management.

Gives us another HG option, where we've always lacked numbers.

Allows Davies to permanently become CB cover - meaning we can have VDV/Romero/Dragusin/Davies as options there plus a pathway for Phillips or Dorrington to move up to fourth choice when Davies moves on.

Yeah if we can get him over his injury issues he could be an asset to Ange. Whether that is possible though is a big question

and could Ange sort out his obvious mentality problems ? As Jol use to say he doesn't seem to have the required "top mentality".

I doubt he’d be seen (in our current setup) as inverted wing back cover. But, surely another option on the left wing, getting to the byline and putting crosses in? Yeah, I could see that. Not sure how many minutes he’d get tho, he’s quite far down the pecking order.

I think Sess has had good games for us and is worth a go for the rest of the season.. He obviously had no confidence in his body and played within himself as far as sprinting goes. If the operation has been a success we should have a much better player from now on..

Can't see us extending his contract, he's either got six months left with an option for 1 year or 18months. So I think he leaves in the summer one way or another.

Just look at how much sharper and confident Richarlison has looked since finally having surgery. Hopefully it’ll be similar with Sess.

Is it purely a mentality issue or was it a physical issue that played on his mind? If he never felt he could fully trust his body to fully commit to anything then holding back even just a tiny bit will destroy what you can do at the top level.

Time will tell I guess, if he's ever able to physically get to where he needs to be.

When is he actually due back?

I’d written him off as a traditional LB for us as he was way too timid on the ball and showed no confidence going forward. Willing to see him given a chance as Udogies back up though as one of Sess’ main strengths is his positioning in attack, which could translate very well to being inverted. Just needs that on the ball confidence to go along with it which I’m not sure he’s capable of.

Amazing. Glad to see him with the group again. Certainly boosts the numbers with VDV supposedly returning tonight as well.

Starting to look much better, and hopefully this is just the start and we see more and more returns like this over the next couple of weeks.
