How do you mentally come back from this? You’re out for nine months and thirty minutes in some spiteful scrote knackers you for another three months. Fucks sake.

Feel so sorry for Lolo. To work so hard for eight months, only to have some uppity prick try to literally sweep the knee, must be infuriating.

Really hope he can recuperate quickly, and sees there is a light at the end of the tunnel, and he can still play a big role in March, April and May.

And who knows, maybe he'll recover even faster than that and be back at the start of February.

We're all pullin' for ya, Lolo!

I was seething when it happened. I’m still seething now. All this bullshit wording in the rules about ‘dangerous’ tackles but thugs like Matty Cash get rewarded for intentionally going in like he’s done on numerous occasions and seriously injuring opponents. The rules are an absolute joke. They do fuck all to protect technical players.
Exactly what I said at the time.

Everythign around the tackle screamed "I am gonna do him" and to make it even clearer when Cash went to Bentancur he tapped him on the back and then walked off with that twinkle in his eye that basically read "Mission accomplished"

Just seen a suggestion of sin bin trials being recommended where players go off for 10 mins for dissent and cynical fouls . Not sure if it's the answer but this is an example of one where that would be the least he deserves. If you know you can miss that time of a match maybe you're less likely to make this type of challenge.

Gutted mostly for Bentancur. The one player you didn't want to get injured again. He has to stay strong as I'm sure he'll be devastated.
10 mins in a sin bin for that is not enough. Simple rule, if you commit a foul that the ref deems worthy of a yellow (or red) and the player you injure is taken off injured because of that foul, then;

1) you also have to be removed from the field of play (if your team has used all its subs - tough)
2) if the injured player is out of action then you remain unable to play for the same amount of time up to a maximum of one year (to cover a situation where the injured player can never play again)

I don't think Cash wanted to injure him but he intended to 'leave one on him' and so took that risk of causing injury - he deserves all the stick he gets.

Cash is a dick! He would have know bents had been out injured fit 9 months, he knew he injured MD.

It’s ppls careers
He should have been sent off for his 2nd tackle. He thought he will as well. But for some ridiculous biasness against us again, the ref did not award the 2nd yellow to him.

On another note, I'm always intrigued is there no one, or any one, from the club that can get soooo frustrated like we fans do, but instead of like us swearing at the officials and players, he/she/they actually can do something in an official capacity to raise the point of us being at the receiving end of far too many misjudged challenges? Are all people once they worked for the club become so nice that they will never be pissed with such outcome? I thought Jedinak was a fiery character. Made me miss Joe Jordan lol.

I think the important thing for him to focus on is that it's not his knee that gave way, it's a different injury that also wasn't his fault as he was hacked down.

Agree with all of that aside from Cash not wanting to injure him. He knew exactly what he was doing.

They should be able to review these incidents after the game like they used to.

VAR has obviously taken that possibility out of the game but they should make special exceptions.

Cash went out to hurt Bentancur, there is no denying that.

It is only right when this happens, these players are given long suspensions because then they are going to think twice about that.

Especially shits like Cash who know they won't get back into the Villa team.

I am still certain thought that someone on the coaching staff at Villa has told them to try and hit Bentancur early as he was pulling the strings.

This sin bin will most likely be the next nail in the coffin of 'the beautiful game'. You'll have every foul being looked at by VAR and stopping the game two seconds to determine if that should be sun bin or not and then everything that comes with that and the rights and wrongs of every sin bin.

Could benefit us long term if all these injuries mean DL pushes the boat out on getting signings in Jan. He might have thought we’re good with what we’ve got if all players were fit.

(Trying to find a positive spin!)

Levy never responds to injuries with signings. He will just see injuries as a short term thing that happens which is right but we clearly need 2 top teams worth of players to account for them.
