Keep him. All 7 (Bissouma, Maddison, Sarr, Skipp, Hjobjerg, Bentancur and Lo Celso) midfielders have something to contribute. Fire Ndombele into the moon

Have to keep him unless we planning to upgrade.. he looks fresh and calms things down when he comes on a valuable member of the squad

I'd agree if we were in Europe and/or didn't have a bloated squad to trim.

As it is, we have to be open to offers.

Agreed, but with the caveat that keeping him until January could be useful. He’s a great option to have as a substitute and it’d give Bentancur time to reintegrate.

Now (or January) is definitely the time to sell PEH though.

In theory selling him and bringing in a young talent with a lot of potential such as Federico Redondo makes sense to me. Long term PEH isn’t going to be happy being a back up and considering we are starting a rebuild now is the time to put as many pieces in place as possible.

But on the flip side the experience and calmness PEH brings is a big positive. Being able to have him as a back up could be invaluable throughout the season. He would probably get lots of game time. He could make a difference on our season.

I’m certainly in no hurry to sell him but if he does go I think we need some form or replacement.

I think I'm happy either way with PEH. On one hand, from a business perspective this is our best time to sell. He is unlikely to break back into the starting lineup and his value will only decrease from there. On the other hand, we would need to replace him if he is sold. He is our first midfield sub if we're trying to see the game out. He is a warrior and we might want some older heads around. We also don't need money - we just sold our star man for 100mil and haven't spend a penny since.

In the previous 3 seasons Pierre has probably had the most starts in the team bar Kane. He might not have the quality to be one of the first names on the teamsheet, but to have him as a 5th option in a three man midfield (today's midfield + Bentancur) is really good squad depth IMO. Same goes for Skipp as 6th choice who got considerable game time last season due to long term injuries on Bentancur and Bissouma.

It would be nice to keep him. Have to look at it from player’s perspective though. Is PEH open to staying with a diminished role like he had today? I think that is the question people need to be asking. I would guess the answer would be no.

Thought he was great, really helped us settle down (as he did against UTD) and kept it simple.

I'm on the fence about selling him now. What he has done these last two games has been great, but on the other hand we have very few offers coming in for players and we need to trim the squad.

This is the thing though isn't it.

He was a big help today as he can act like a midfield general and help calm things down. Sarr and Bissouma are streets ahead technically and physically but they also may overcomplicate things, a player like Hojbjerg can help that but I wouldn't say he should be starting and expect him to do as well should we be losing and need to get at the opposition or make something happen.

He's no where near a starter in this team and with this style of play. He's fine for this kind of role but not any where near up to the quality the rest are putting in.

Hes got a frustrating stray pass in him but the positives he brings to the team massively out weigh the negatives.

Not completely opposed to selling him for a good fee but I just can't see who we could replace him with and get the same or better qualities.

Especially when the linked replacements are the likes of Gallagher.. No ta.

I thought he was the perfect Substitute to bring on today. Anyone that doesn't see value in his place in the squad for such moments has a bias against him in my view.

Solid, stable and far better than most give him credit for. If he's happy to be a part of this squad and not a starter then I'm happy to retain him
