There are still lots of rumours about GLC leaving this window, so if he does, would people still want PEH to leave (if we don't have time to replace GLC this month)?

Obviously, PEH isn't a Madders backup, but assuming that Bentancur doesn't get match fit until close to Christmas, we would suddenly feel rather light in midfield with only Madders, Sarr, Biss, and Skipp (plus Devine as a totally unknown quantity at Prem level) to cover 3 positions.

I don't see us paying enough to get Gallagher (and definitely not Eze), and who else have we realistically been linked with in centre mid?

Yes. We still have Bentacur and Gil to come back from injury. In Ange's system the last think we want is P(anic!)EH

Romano reported in his newsletter today that Barca are still looking to move Fati (although Fati is insistent he wants to stay), and that they want to sell Lenglet and Marcos Alonso. I don't know if the latter two would suffice to enable Barca to register Felix, but that appears to be the current state of play.
Xavi has also told Alonso he won’t be going and is in his plans. Lenglet won’t be enough. I don’t think even him and Alonso would be enough. Tbh they need to shift an attacker if they go for Felix and ideally a valuable one. It’s going to be very hard for them to shift Fati (the most ideal candidate as they plan to play Felix LW) as he really doesn’t want to go and nobody seems majorly keen on him atm.

I’d say it’s a pretty decent bet. Ether him or Leonardo. We have been linked to both by questionable ITK’s on Twitter so there’s a chance it could well be one of the two. Redondo would be much more likely to want to stay tho. Santos would probably want Leo to stay but would probably let him go now if we paid the €20 mil they supposedly want
I’m sure I read that Santos were really pushing to keep Marcos until December, before the Milan deal fell apart. Either way they look like smart additions and I’d take a loan back if that’s what it takes to get a deal done.

Or perhaps Andre, who’s being linked to Liverpool? Tim Vickery spoke about him in the video he did on Veliz and I thought how good he sounded for our system, from around 3:27..

This is the PEH thread.
And?
Someone says perhaps Redondo is who Hercules is referring to and when I ask where, because I don't know why Hercules referred to him and with what connection to Hojbjerg, so I asked, I get people rating me off topic.
Now if you look back you'll see I never bother about negative ratings, if people want to be arsey that's up to them but if they're going to be arsey they should do it in context.
Feel free to neg rep this one too thread wonks.

Yeah he had Abde had a very promising season at Osasuna. His dribbling stats were up there with Vinicius as one of the best in the league. He looks a very exciting talent. Tbh this is Barca all over, instead of using the talent they have they decided to overspend on a player the manager isn’t convinced by. It’s only going to get worse now Deco is there as he has very close ties to Mendes.

Anyway, I just have this feeling that Atleti won’t be able to raise the cash for PEH. Reality is if Barca get Felix it will be last minute and on very favourable conditions for Barca.

Edit:
Just to add that Romano just tweeted saying that Abde won’t be sold now as Xavi really likes him. If this is true and Torres + Fati won’t leave then I don’t know how they get Felix. They are stacked up front and I’m not sure how they would be able to register him.
Didnt know Deco had gone there and that has to be one of the most absurd decisions.

Not only is he close to Mendes but he has his own agency with loads of players and he was pushing Vitor Roque there.

I now fully expect to see him push his own players there as well as Mendes'.

How can you expect someone to be a good DOF with that level of self interest

Agree. It’s exactly why they are after Felix and were able to get Cancelo. Xavi doesn’t actually want Felix because he isn’t sure how he fits in as they already have options he likes LWF. It’s Barca the club who are pushing for that deal. So dumb especially when you realise how much of a mess Barca are in general.

He closed his agency when going to Barca. Your point still stands, just thought I'd share the information.

He’s only 18 and still raw but he is a DM.

If they see him as one for the future, which Romano's tweet suggests, then it may not prevent them from bringing in Hojbjerg. The timing would line up well, they could get a good 3-5 years out of PEH and then turn the keys over to Vos when PEH has reached his 30s and Vos is in his early 20s and ready for senior football.

He’s very highly rated by Ajax and Utd were linked last year but you are right he’s essentially still a youth player. But I doubt he’d be super cheap and obviously they are struggling to raise the funds for PEH so maybe they think of a different longer term solution instead. You’re right tho, it would be quite the pivot, but I just don’t see them going from not being able to get PEH to buying him and Vos. If they actually try to buy Vos that is.

I’d be more than happy to never see PEH again. I just think it’s a waste of an opportunity to give him game time. No season should ever be a “transitional” season but like it or not, that’s where we are, so let’s really use it as such and give take more chances and use younger players more. Not just Alfie Devine but the other young players who we might never know if they are good enough if they don’t get a chance. Nile John etc.
