Don’t let the door hit you on the way out!

£15m fee and £80k a week off the wage bill would be lovely.

Hopefully, he goes to the euros and does well so someone pays a decent fee for him. I wish him the best, but he is literally one of the most limited footballers I've seen in a longggg time.

Imagine he will be gone in the summer. Huge wages and will have two years left so last chance to get a real fee, we need to refresh the squad and with his age and limited ability, no point keeping around.

I really do think there is a place for him in this squad and considering that we are going to be very limited in our ability to buy players I would keep him in the squad. Particularly in certain matches he has been and will be crucial plus he is adored by the squad apparently and at a time I am concerned about morale and togetherness he is not the characters I would want to stay.

Honestly, once he’s gone and we get in a player who can do all those things you suggest, but is also a footballer, then you’ll be a lot happier. I can promise that.

You're probably right but I remain very concerned that our desire to, for example, replace him the squad with Sabitzer etc, is not something we are going to be able to do with the financial situation. Would it be a surprise if we are restricted to loans and frees ? I am very sceptical as to what we can achieve in the window without the stadium being full etc etc etc

I get what your saying here, however moving players not needed or wanted is key to us actually being able to buy the replacements so instead of letting this squad go more stale than it already is it’s vital we sell to get the replacements in

This has never been more apt than right now. Fact is there isn't going to be vast amounts of money being thrown around in the Summer. Clubs just don't have the cash flow right now. It won't be a case of we only want to sell xyz, those Jose sees as his must keeps or high potential will be kept, any on the fringe will be allowed to go.

Fairly sure Hugo and Winks will go, and there will be suitors for both. We probably need at least another 2 out though so will be a very interesting Summer.

Replacing Hugo is the tricky one for me. I’d like Pope and in a usual market I think affordable. But we would probably have to spank most of our budget on him now. It really isn’t the summer to be looking for another top draw goalkeeper at an affordable price.

We'd hopefully still get around £10m for Hugo as he'd have 12 months left, so that may soften the blow slightly.

However, you're right. it feels like we've left ourselves too much to do already with revamping the squad. Let alone trying to look for a new first-choice goalkeeper as well.

Definitely will be an interesting summer...

Replace him, Winks and Dele with Skipp and Sabitzer though and we've improved the squad and potentially made a profit.

We knew he is a limited footballer and still managed to find a place for him; that is to Poch's credit.
Dont just focus on his weaknesses (very noticable) think about his strenghts as well (less noticable):
1) Rarely beaten 1 on 1
2) Great atheletcism
3) High professionalism: good dressing room influence and never complains about being played in different positions/roles.

It makes too much sense. Now the hard part is to find a buyer for them.
They'll all have plenty of suitors - Winks and Dele in particular. Even in these pandemic affected times we ought to be able to get a total of £50-70m for those two alone - more than enough for a quality replacement.

The concerning thing about this is that typically Levy holds onto players for too long and drives such a hard deal than we end up not selling certain players we really should've moved on so if that holds true this summer then we will not be able to re-invest in the 3-4 areas we still need to and next season will be just as difficult as this.
