At least Jose seems to have identified our problems.
His positional awareness??? Sissoko plays all over the field. He runs more than any other players and covers more space. You can see he is aware but unfortunately he cant be everywhere all the time
Touch is Poor and Passing inconsistent? I wouldnt argue but he has shown some incredibly deft foot footwork at times and passing has been good at times.Gaining confidence has helped him a lot.
Sissoko works harder than anyone on the team.He does whatever they ask him to do. He never feigns injury and he gets right up and carries on playing most of the time. He is a soldier. At worst he would be considered one of the best bench players in the league because he can play anywhere.
Worst of all is the rap he gets from some fans. They usually turn to Sissoko when things are not going well.He is a easy mark to take on the whole teams responsibility. When things are not going well I always point at our World Class stars
.
The things you’ve praised him for are admirable but players at the top usually do the basics of controlling and passing the ball very well. They are also good at keeping the team shape and not chasing the ball around the pitch.
He would be a useful sub though you’re right.
Thanks.
Re ' the running all over the place'
He hasn't changed his style I dont think.
Poch played him more often than a lot of other players and often last season he was our best player when everyone was passing the back back and forth he was powering forward.
Do we know what the managers have asked him to do?
Why hasn't any manager mentioned that he is doing this wrong? Sissoko is definitely a player that would listen to a manager.
1. He didnt buy himself we bought him
2. What seemed to be a 30m loss seemed a bargain last year when he was actually getting the team moving forward while Eriksen and co had trouble getting the ball through to the front
3.He shouldn't be a scapegoat. Against Man U he wasn't pur worst player.Believe me Sanchez,Winks,Kane,Son,Gazzinga were much worse
I’m afraid doing stupid things like hacking down a player in the penalty area just after half time isn’t going to do him any favours. Especially after the Champions League handball.
His best qualities are his athleticism and work rate and we need better than that.
He is the next Didier Zokora. Brilliant athlete, average footballer.
He did it once
How about Foyth and Aurier?
How much more clever are they?
Yes he is an average footballer that often last season outplayed all the geniuses but dont let that get in the way
I can tell you I'm not even a big fan of Sissoko.
I am of Ndombele though. But I do appreciate the things Sissoko had done that many of the others couldn't match.
Yea cool get what you’re saying mate, he’s tried hard and been a good performer but ultimately i don’t think he’s good enough for us really. You said he was "Immense all season and deserves no criticism at all"
Yet now he does deserve criticism and he was only immense in relative terms to others not being as good. It's fine, you got carried away, I just happen to think that comment was spot on.
Has he really been any worse than others? Son, Moura, Kane, Alli were all poo on Wednesday night and have been so (bar son) on and off for ages too.
He was immense last season, deserved every bit of praise he got and stood up to be counted despite being in a team, as you say, that was off form.
Was just about to post this, from minute 18 for anyone who’s interested. Finally a manager with sense. At last!
He won’t be playing him there again thank fuck
He didn't do this once in the match away at Man United and gave away the penalty , he also needlessly stuck his leg out in the first half just outside our own box and brought down another Utd player, they got a dangerous free kick which was very close to putting them 2 up. He doesn't seem to learn that you can't be reckless either inside the area or just outside it, the CL final was another prime example. He did it once

I don’t think you want to be defending Sissoko by comparing him to those two. Aurier is a joke purchase. Clearly they watched all his attacking highlights without checking if he was a good defender.
Yes I agree he’s a good guy. He’s got the right attitude and he's quick and works hard.
Apparently Mourinho has come out and said he’s not a central midfielder which is a relief. If his defending improves he’d make a brilliant wingback.

Yes he has a good work ethic and yes his best place is on the right side of midfield far enough away from our own box not to make rash tackles or in giving away avoidable free kicks or penalties.
That was a World Class goal to you??? WOW...He just scored a bloody worldy as well.
It's all relative..seriously it was a brilliant goal...volleys like that running in...then hitting it in the corner..spectacular!That was a World Class goal to you??? WOW...
His goal today was better. Last weeks was all about the quality of the cross. It's all relative..seriously it was a brilliant goal...volleys like that running in...then hitting it in the corner..spectacular!
