I hope so

For the good of the squad, I hope we show some faith In Gio and show him he is a key part of the squad.
Same mate. Although the Madders 1 pointer off the bench will be annoying for my FPL team 🤣😅

I suppose if Maddison does play then GLC would definitely start against Fulham on Tuesday in the cup.

I think with Maddison only just having trained today, GLC will start against Bournemouth and Maddison will come off the bench.
Hopefully we won't require Maddison off the bench to see the game out so would ideally like Lo Celso to get the full 90 under his belt or if he's blowing then perhaps go more experimental with Deki inside and Solomon right.

It would be nice to see a motivated Gio playing under a progressive manager like Ange. Of course he hasn't been reliable for us in the past, but equally Spurs hasn't been a great club to be at during that time.

His preseason form deserves an opportunity at the weekend.

I thought he was good under Mourinho. He had a run of really good games and then suffered like the rest of the squad. This team is built for his skillset.

He was probably our second best player and even Mourinho said that he would pick Lo Celso over Bruno Fernandes. Doubt that Jose actually believed that but he had to play decently well for him to say it. He was a turnover machine and missed some sitters (unlucky to hit the post a few times) but other than that he was pretty good.

Also have to factor in Bruno was playing more advanced and we were basically the get the ball to Son and Kane on the break team at that point.

I really like Gio, hope he turns it around and gets a good run this year. Much rather watch him than players like Hojbjerg

The biggest issue for Gio will be that in my opinion Maddison has stepped up as the leader on the field. While Son may be captain it has seemed to me that Maddison is the guy driving them on and directing them.

Agreed. Although I am still hoping that we should be able to play Gio and Maddison together against certain teams.

Pretty poor if we are considering selling Gio this late on in the window imo.
After Maddison he is the only natural option for the 10 role and from Ange's comments he seems to be relying on him for the season ahead.
Appreciate we need to trim the squad but Ange seems to have integrated GLC into his system and the small sample of preseason suggests he might be able to get something out of him. Selling him now just creates another hole in the squad we dont need with a week to go in the window.

You are confusing Maddison with Bissouma...

I think after Ange’s decision to rotate Skipp and Emerson after the first game and clearly saying it was so he could have a look at different options, Gio was going to get a chance at some point anyway so this does seem a perfect situation to give him that chance and also not take an unnecessary risk on Maddison.

regardless of how good Maddison has been, one thing I hate is having undroppable players / lack of competition. If Gio comes in and does well then the competition between the two can help push them both on to even higher levels.

and as for selling Gio, that sounds like madness. We’d be reliant on using Deki as understudy and there’s no telling that he really is a proper solution there. Or we’d have to bring in another player but really, who would we get who would be the right level and the right price. Gio can also cover the Sarr position which gives him even more advantage.

A 27 year old Lo Celso in his prime is not going to want to hear his name in the same sentence as "cover".

I still say if another club is prepared to make a good, non-loan offer to buy and he asks for it to be accepted, the right thing to do would be to let him go.

He is far too good of a player to be "cover" for a club outside of Europe. There are more appropriate options for us to fill spots like this in our squad, particularly with a noticeable shortage of homegrown talent.

Sure you support spurs mate? Who the fuck doesn’t want us to have the strongest squad possible which means two top options in every position?!
