Seems to me given the itk that it’s gonna be a double knockout for us, not getting bale, then losing Harry next summer. Come on to feck levy! Get the fingers out or we are in serious danger of sliding back into mid table mediocrity again over the next few seasons

Why would you do this to me!

I love you.

For fuck sake rebrab!

Hold me :hungover:

I said however slim! It's just interesting because every single year we are linked to him and I've never heard anything about it at all, until today. Which gives me some optimism it might be different. But it seems like a very difficult deal from everything we all know about the situation.

Despite everything and there are MANY reasons to have doubts, I'm going to believe Levy is going to get this done. We didnt build a shiny new stadium to languish in mediocrity! Stadium fitting of champions + 'serial silverware winner' manager + not providing the players to deliver it all does not make sense from any perspective

Listen. If Bale and Madrid have already have already moved this much and Levy hasnt met them already and pulled the trigger, he never will. So its not happening.

See, the thing is, based on what we "know" (and obviously that is taken with a big grain of salt) this ISN'T a difficult deal. The ITK we've seen points to Bale and Madrid being ready to pull the trigger at a reasonable rate. It is OUR side making things difficult. It is outside the comfort zone of our club but it seems like this trigger could be pulled right now, just Levy is going to piss around with it hoping to leverage Madrid further. THAT is the only difficulty I see. Maybe I've misread the ITK we've had and I certainly don't mean to imply that you don't have more information than I do, clearly you do. But it just seems to me that this is another case of Levy not having the guts or the killer instinct to know when a deal is ready to sign.

Jesus, the man singlehandedly keeping this thread afloat for years suddenly gets cold feet when it becomes real. Are you our polly pocket chairman in disguise?

But if it does, then what happens?

I mean thats the crux of it right. Obviously the next step is to get fans back in stadiums as fucking soon as possible!

I get that it’s unlikely. For me the fact that you’re hearing anything at all at least suggests it’s more than a fleeting fancy, even if it doesn’t happen, just because you’re another itk with other sources getting info on this. Too many of you have heard something for this to just be a simple ‘Perez me ol’ mucka, remember our special relationship? Any chance this year is the year?.

He won't shag you mate
You don’t know that.

I actually wonder if we're actually considering signing Bale as a striker and that's why we haven't made any major moves for any other strikers yet.

Even if he doesn't play as a striker signing him allows us more flexibility to move Son central and still have Bale/Bergwijn/Moura wide so we're not significantly weakened.

talkSPORT understands Spurs have already held tentative talks with the LaLiga giants and have the edge over Man United.

“Things are really hotting up when it comes to Gareth Bale,” talkSPORT’s transfer guru Alex Crook explained. “We are hearing that Tottenham are plotting a potential homecoming for the Wales superstar.

“I think that toothless performance against Everton really highlighted just how badly Jose Mourinho needs extra options in attack.

“We know Real Madrid are open to letting Bale leave after the relationship there has broken beyond repair and we understand that Spurs are interested in a possible loan deal with the Spanish giants paying a big chunk of his £600,000-a-week wages.

“Bale himself is also aware that Manchester United have him on their long list of options if they can’t get the Jadon Sancho deal over the line.

“The fact that Spurs have already held tentative talks with Real probably gives them the edge at the moment.

“It’s been wrongly claimed that Gareth Bale is happy to just sit on his contract and spend his days on various golf courses.

“I think there is a desire now to play regular football, not least of course because he’s got a big summer ahead next year with Wales and the European Championships.”

Alex Crook was speaking to Jim White and Simon Jordan and the latter doesn’t think Tottenham will sign him.

“[Bale] needs to play. It’s no good sitting at Real Madrid making a point. It’s no good your agent sitting there saying ‘he’s got a contract’. He needs to play. I don’t see him going to Tottenham. I don’t see how they can justify the expenditure.

“Even if Real Madrid are prepared to pay a significant portion of his wages. Even if they pay half, we are talking about breaking the wage structure at Tottenham. Even if there’s no transfer fee, I can’t see Spurs paying £300,000-a-week at Spurs.”
