Surely his Goal of the Season v the scum should earn him an extension to his contract!!

Been here a long long time now and unfortunately for the money and investment we’ve put into him, overall he’s been a huge disappointment

Another one that needs to be moved on in the summer but won’t be
For all his faults which I feel are few, I would put him on one side of the room and most of the rest of our squad on the other and let them know what attitude and professionalism looks like. No matter how much he's been benched or left out he gives 100% every time. Loves the game and leaves it all on the pitch.

It would have if the rest of our team had decided to follow his example on that game instead of playing like they didn't give a fuck for the rest of the match, until there were only like 10 minutes left and we were a a goal and a man down (the later, due to Michael Oliver being such a bitch).

If that had happen, our season would certainly have shaped differently and we most likely would have qualified for the CL. But I guess getting rid of Mourinho was more important to his team mates.

I just saw in the ITK thread that Lamela has asked to leave?
Where did that news come from?
I'd be surprised on one hand as both sides appear to have been very loyal to one and other- but if he has asked then maybe a return to Italy or go to a slower league to prolong his career maybe the thinking.
If he leaves he'll go with my best wishes
I don't know the answers- does anyone?

We’re exercising a lot of patience with transfers out and in each year. If nobody has made an offer on some of our players…. Well we might be a bit screwed this year.

as has been said many times in here if he can stay healthy he’s a valuable squad player but if he wants to leave or we get a good offer it’s a no brainer to say goodbye he’s not gonna be a first 11 guy again

Rumours over here that Mourinho always rated the guy when he was at Spurs and might consider him for a move to Roma.

Gianluigi Longari (Sportitalia journo): “Fiorentina is very interested in Tottenham’s Erik Lamela and so could be a new transfer market deal. It is at the explorative stage because Spurs are interested in some Fiorentina players, like Milenković whose contract expires in 2022 and also Dušan Vlahović whose contract expires in 2023. I don’t think Fiorentina want to sell Vlahović, for Milenković there is a bigger possibility and during these talks Fiorentina showed their interest in Lamela who has a contract with Tottenham that expires in 2022. This could be a good transfer for Fiorentina if the price was good, meaning Fiorentina could give some €5-6m to Spurs and could offer Lamela a 3 year contract.”

Kinda like the way we’re operating - money can be tight, so swap (ish) deals make sense and help us move players on.

In the past swap deals were very rare- I believe that this summer will see many more than before as most clubs have tighter budgets

Lamela seems like a nice chap. But if someone is interested in signing him and the fee is right, then I say sell.
Hes been at spurs for ages and hasnt developed to be a steady performer.

Will be sad to see him go but it's time to say goodbye to Erik. Loved his attitude and his inventiveness, wished he had stayed injury free and learned how to play the pass quicker, as well as shoot properly.
