Damn Ali Gold really jumped the gun on this one
I was only joking about your manner of putting "!" at the end of every sentenceAh the joys of the care free!
Because he is an Argentinian defender? Bit silly to say that.
There is always a risk of a new signing not living up to expectations, but you could just as easily have said "are we 100% sure he won't be a flop" or have used a different example of a failed CB signing who doesn't happen to be Argentinian (Chiriches, Wimmer, Bassong etc.). It doesn't seem coincidental...are we 100% he is not another Fazio? like the guy above I try to avoid youtube comps partly due to superstition, partly the default music and partly because they mean fuck all usually.
We signed Fazio from Sevilla (i.e. La Liga not Serie A). Maybe we missed your post in the Kounde thread comparing him to Fazio. An Argentinian centre back who was way more successful in Serie A than with us and came highly rated.
This is fair and understandable. I’d be a little more apprehensive too if he didn’t have a great Copa America in a back 4 next to a declining Otamendi. But he ended up in the TOTT and dominated Brazil in the final. Faultless throughout the tournament in a different system to his club.Atalanta has a very particular defensive system, the 3 defenders always plays
“ a uomo” they follow the striker in every zone of the field. He’s too aggressive, I have doubt over his adaptation in traditional defensive system. That’s the reason why I’m concerned, obviously I hope to eat my word and I hope that he will be named even best PL defender
Probably thinks our shortlist of back-up / replacement CFs should consist of Benzema, Lewandowski, Mbappe and Haaland....instead of Vlahovic / Ings.LOL thats one delusional list.
Skriniar, De Vrij, Koundè, Kimpembè, Laporte, Gimenez. And many others probably

Don't think Fazio was ever especially highly rated. He was always seen as a bit of a budget 4th or 5th choice option, a bit like Stambouli who we also bought in the same window. They were both cheap stopgaps during a period in which Levy was always looking to keep spending down. The one we really wanted IIRC was Musacchio but he was too expensive, so we eventually settled for Fazio as he was only 9 million. An Argentinian centre back who was way more successful in Serie A than with us and came highly rated.
grinta (grit) or as they say in the UK "Likes to put himself about a bit"
Jules Kounde.
I think the ideal partner is a pretty fast player who can cover a lot of ground because Romero is likely to step towards attackers so you need someone that can fall in behind and cover him.
Kounde is 178cm.
That’s tall for a hobbit

I'm sorry ?
I think he was talking about that defensive moment of a game when we are not having a ball and defending.I didnt think Kounde is one to sit back? from what i remeber from him last season he bursts alot going forward and played alot of time in the centre spot compared to his partner at seville, who was more further back?
You forgot Van Dijk and DiazSkriniar, De Vrij, Koundè, Kimpembè, Laporte, Gimenez. And many others probably

Pretty mad that he made it into the TOTT when he only played 3 matches. Here's his performance in the final in a back 4 vs the likes of Neymar for anyone that is curious. This is fair and understandable. Has Romano ever jumped the gun with a 'here we go' and got it wrong? Can't happen very often.
Seems like he waits until a deal is all but confirmed before he uses his precious catchphrase (barring failed medicals, etc). Generally seems to have a very high hit rate when he says it as presumably he wants to protect his brand.
