coutinho and ceballos on loan without any option to buy is not very future oriented but i guess the plan would be to go all in for top 4 and buy next year when they got cl.

Option or no option, with our current situation re eriksen surely it’s better to just get a quality player in so we can deal with this shit next summer!!

Oh great over the summer period Arsenal improved while we have regressed - now Coutinho on his way there - NLD will be fun - NOT

What has regressed us in the summer??

You must think very highly of Trippier, Vorm and Llorente!

(And not at all for Ndombele)

Arsenal strengthening in attack. Spurs weakening in attack. The sky is blue. All the leaves are green. Water is wet.

Sounds like the same scenario as Cabellos. We only want to sign not loan which is fair enough. I'd rather sign Fernandes than loan Coutinho with no option to sign. We're better off developing our own players than other team's.

I'd have thought Barca would rather a sale or at least and option. Different to the situation with Ceballos.

He will be an ideal replacement for Eriksen.

This place cracks me up. From excitement to despair in one tweet.

ITK only came through on Coutinho today however rumours started days ago, hence our odds were slashed with the bookies. It’s not over yet.

Until this morning no one even thought we were in for him bar some money being chucked on him and a few rumours in the usual places. Little bit of ITK drops and now it's the end of the world even after numerous posted in here prior to that 'not to do it to ourselves' ...

This place is bipolar as fuck.

Probably because Arsenal are having a much more successful window than us, despite being in a supposedly much worse position - if we want, and more importantly, Poch wants Coutinho, we simply can’t allow him to go to Arsenal

Huge gamble though. Especially with that defence.

Like Eriksen, he’s essentially a 1 in two goals/assist output in this league. What he doesn’t have is the metronome aspect or Eriksen’s game, but that’s pretty unique to Eriksen as a number ten. He’s a slightly less capable passer but that’s caveated my him being a more adventurous passer, and he sees less of the ball. Better dribbler though and more of an entertainer.

He’d be a sideways replacement, which is fine, Eriksen is top class.

Agree Coutinho could be described as a sideways replacement, where in my view GLC or Bruno would be a backwards step.

They have bought and loaned a player back to his parent club for the year, loaned at least one midfielder (looks like possibly a second) and bought another attacker for their record fee. I guess it's in the eye of the beholder.

They might only be loans but Ceballos and Coutinho will help to improve their team significantly.

People can laugh at the loans but the reality is if they got top4 because of it and didn't have to risk shelling out 60-80 million on players to do so then they've absolutely smashed it because it puts them back at the top table with the added bonus of additional funds for qualifying, I don't see how people can say that's not a smart decision.

Some people buy some people rent.
Yes but Arsenal could be renting things they don't necessarily need and possibly could be stuffed financially in a year.

I honestly can't see them making top 4 with their defence, and then the shit will hit the fan for them.

"their defence is shit" is the biggest myth perpetuated on here. They conceded about 10 more than us last year with two of their first choice defenders out.
