Dybala Eriksen straight swap would be fine + GLC coming in. Decent window for us.

But how many times do you actually see swap-deals, it's only happening in Football Manager.. Italian clubs though, have them more occurring.

Have seen a few people talking about Eriksen going to Juve, but has there been any link of him wanting to go there or Juve wanting him?

Levy wouldn't want Eriksen seeing out his final season and going on a free, so maybe if RM aren't interested Levy would try and involve him in a Dybala deal, that's maybe where some are linking that with....all rumours ofc.

Yeah, I think if Eriksen is stalling and not committing then it would be wise to enquire if clubs are interested - especially if they have shown previous interest. Seen as Juve reached out to us with Dybala it would make sense for us to offer a scenario that fits. I know swap deals are rare but they could be something for us to work with here.

We seem happy to let Toby do it, but... Eriksen has said a new contract is possible if no big club comes in for him.

So if RM don't want him, and he doesn't want Juve we could still get him to sign (unless that's changed since the start of the window)

JJ has obviously been told to keep quiet as there is a lot going on at the moment.

No one wants anything jeopardised.

Just need a bit of patience, only less than 2 weeks to go.

Exactly. Probably why he deleted his dybala tweet the other day. Or that he's fed up people bombarding him with questions on twitter and reading into everything he does or doesn't say.

While I remain massively skeptical of this happening, it does, theoretically at least, make sense if Eriksen is moving on. It would gain traction if Eriksen felt a move to Juve was on par with a move to Real, who don’t seem that fussed about signing him.

Then if it did happen, we’d have some very interesting options up front:
If Poch continues with his 41212, we’d have Kane, Son, Dybala and Moura rotating around the two forward positions but also Dybala, Lo Celso and Dele all capable of playing the CAM role.

Additionally, we’d also have Ndombele, Sissoko, Lo Celso and Dele able to cover the RCM and LCM. That’s decent versatility from a small number of players.

The same versatility applies if we play 4231 with Son, Moura, Dele, Lo Celso and Dybala playing across the front 3 and deputising for Kane in the lone striker role. The two central midfield positions could be occupied by Winks, Ndombele, Sissoko, Skipp and even Dier.

In short, Dybala’s versatility and positional strengths would balance the squad brilliantly.

But equally, Eriksen staying would be massive. If either scenario materialises, I’d be very happy

Eriksen seems to fit Sarriball much more than Dybala and I know we keep being told that Eriksen's preference is RM or Barca, but if Juve started to show a serious interest in him, I'm sure he'd want to go there.

Dybala is only 'versatile' because he's constantly played out of position. His best, and only true position is as a second striker. Him playing in the 3 in midfield doesn't suit him at all imo. Think fekir, very similar players who are very good but not incredibly adaptable. We already have Alli and Lucas who can play this sort of role, I'm not sure that we need to give up our greatest creator or 90m for an improved version who's struggled over the last 2 seasons or so. I never thought that it would happen anyway

It's a great solution if it happened

I imagine we'd go with a top two. Dybala just ahead of Kane - vice-versa.

I understand the earlier arguments about people wanting to keep Eriksen over signing Dybala, with the fact he’s PL proven and critical to how we play etc.

But with him on the last 12 months on his deal, until he puts pen to paper to re-sign, we could do a lot worse than Dybala. Yes, he could flop, but he could also be the amazing signing we hope he’d be on paper, and we could do a lot worse than replacing Eriksen with Dybala.

In all honesty I give it little chance, but if Eriksen has told the hierarchy he isn’t interested in signing a new deal, this is something we should look to persue imo despite the inevitable risks

I don't want Eriksen to go, if I'm 100% honest but we're in a precarious situation. If he signed a new contract tomorrow, then great! But the longer it rumbles on the more worried we should be, and we certainly need a replacement for him, even if GLC signs.

Playing across the three in the CAM role would definitely work for him

I agree in some ways but we have Dele and Lamela and they need to create more
Moura does.
It's all a question of the money and how its allocated. Wanting it and budgeting it is different. The money is def part of the equasion

Toby and Eriksen are both in their final year, but the similarity ends there.

DL can't risk Eriksen signing a new contract, they don't agree and we lose 60-70 m.

The longer Eriksen doesn't sign a new deal, the more likely DL will try and get him sold and get some money in.

This is the exact reason why I think he would be such a brilliant signing for us.
