During the game there was much banter re: their precarious position ("Going down with the West Ham", cheering of other relegation threatened teams' goals) but afterwards we gave them 2 ovations, one for continuing to sing even though they must have been heartbroken and one for beating the scum. Made me smile; during the game we were enemies, afterwards back to being fellow humans.

Only one of the relegated teams likely to come straight back up imo.

They were badly let down by their players and management. Playing 4-5-1 in a game they knew they might need to win, and apart from the goal they never threatened. You could see the end result coming from early on.

Nice to hear the respect after the game though.

Still think the fancy dress was a bad idea....a grown man, dressed as a hot-dog, crying his eyes out.....where's the dignity???

As has been said, enemies during the game, bit of jovial banter but at the end offering our condolences and showing a bit of respect!!

I have a few mates from the Midlands, a couple Villa fans, a WBA fan and about 5 Brum fan. I have to say that the WBA fan is the better of the 3 sets of fans at taking banter at results and generally talking football. The Villa fans get a little annoying about 'Being the best in the Midlands' but in general talk good football. The Brum fans on the other hand are the biggest idiots I know that aren't Arsenal fans.

Being just South of London and how people my age have grown up with Spurs being a smaller side to Arsenal literally 80% of people I know are Arsenal fans, it's terrible and they are so deluded it's untrue. Having said that the Brum fan and his Blues mates think they are amazing, can't take banter and honestly feel they are the best side in the Midlands even after being relegated due to winning the Carling Cup.

You may have guessed from reading this that I am estatic that Blues have gone down having to put up with the amount of deluded stories they tell.

I don't like to see clubs relegated and wouldn't abuse many fans over it but from the Blues fans that I have experianced and know they really did deserve to go down. Add that to how boring they are I think it's great for the EPL they have gone down.

I did think as I was heading into the ground, 'how stupid are this lot gonna look on the way home if they're all teary-eyed and miserable looking'.

Personally I don't get the whole fancy dress thing at football matches - others may disagree and they're entitled to do so obviously - but when I go to a match the only thing I need to entertain me is the match itself. Even on the rare occasions when my mate comes with me I barely speak to him... unless its about football.

It was quite amusing watching one hot dog and 6 Wallys walking miserably back to their minibus and having a wee on some hedges outside Bruce Castle Park. Less amusing when one of them did a Hitler salute (didn't see it myself, but it was completely unprovoked).

All in all, they'll be no great miss to the league due to their negativity, although our record is better against them than some of the other lesser teams. I'll never forget that Martins goal at Wembley though!
