little snippet from justspurs on coys: Been informed by the club that the executive car parking behind the Paxton which is effectively the site of the new stadium is being drastically downsized for next season due to the stadium development. Also they are only offering max 2 year renewals on executive boxes rather than 3. Sounds like momentum is building.
Doesn't it mean that building won't start in the next 2 years?

Ok, so looks like we'll be in our new stadium in about 4 years time I guess. Less, if we move out completely.
Doesn't it actually suggest that we'll be in the new stadium in 2 years? Where do you get 4 years from? Surely if that was the case then they could still sell 3 year renewals? o_O

If we're sitting in our new stadium in 2 years time, I'll buy the whole stadium a drink!!

Feyenoord announced their expansion of De Kuip to 70,000 seats.

"The investigating committee praised the Red de Kuip proposal when presenting their final recommendation on Thursday, but explained that their choice was based mainly on how FFC, a consortium of BAM, AM and Siemens, intends to run the stadium and the technical quality it can offer for a total cost of €200 million or so. Plans will also be developed with FFC for new training facilities budgeted at €16 million.
FFC’s plans involve the redevelopment of De Kuip into a state-of-the-art stadium with around 70,000 seats, some 90 business units, around 6,300 business seats with all modern facilities before, during and after matches and a host of possibilities for use on non-match days."

The cost seems very low, does anyone know the estimated cost of our new stadium? I understand that they are only undergoing a redevelopment, but it is very extensive.

The estimated cost of the KSS design is in the region of £250m.

But the stadium that we get might not be the KSS design at all.

Sorry to post this again but no-one answered.

I read in the one of the pdfs that under "Demolition of existing stadium":
"The development programme requires the demolition of the existing stadium to commence within May 2015, i.e.within the main bird nesting period"

Not entirely sure what I am looking at but is this really true?

I can't imagine that that is still the plan. Unless we have already secretly agreed with the FA or, heaven forbid, MK Dons to play at their stadium for two seasons from 2015-16.

My guess, and it's just that, as I'm no Bill Oddie. Is that any demolition may need to be done before any nesting birds set up home in the high reaches of the stadium.

Why wouldn't it be? Do any rare ornithological gems nests at the Lane or is it just pigeons that can be legally shot as vermin?

edmonton just posted this:
I have no interest in NFL at all so tend to zone out when people are talking about it but a lot of you guys clearly are and it could be critical to the new stadium so here is what I heard, passed on in good faith.
Jags franchise is down to Spurs and Wembley but may not be a decision until 2016. This is too long for Danny to wait so he and Joe are considering buying a NFL franchise.
Sounds like a lot of risk to me.

:

Lewis/Levy might be considering investing in an NFL franchise.

But I cannot see them doing that just to make the stadium a better investment, it would only because they think an NFL franchise is a good investment by itself as the costs and risks of getting an NFL franchise up and running will be so much bigger than any betterment to the stadium investment,

jesus chr*st. that would be a huge gamble in my opinion. i just don't see a UK franchise working for NFL. Players don't want to be drafted and shunted off to play half their games in the UK, current players who are part of a current franchise also won't want to have to up sticks and move their lives and families because they've been unlucky enough to have their 'team' bought.
