A CL qualification and not getting out the group can be worth just £50m or even less. That’s likely to be 1/10 th of our revenue in a couple of years. So it’s definitely becoming marginalised. Although obviously it adds massively to your commercial value and status.

I'd agree with your last sentence, and it's not becoming marginal in relation to players and their view of the club - the best players want to play in the Champs League

Maybe they will play for us one day. Our signings since we have become regular champ lge have hardly been earth shattering. Unfortunately it’s the money that attracts them, and more importantly, their agents.

You have to stop thinking in terms of top-line revenue - and start thinking in terms of bottom line profits.

We would run about an 80% profit margin on participating in CL - taking out expenses for player bonuses, travel expenses, and staffing expenses for home matches.

So, 1/10 of our revenue, will contribute 30-40% of our profits - and it is profits, not revenue, that can be reinvested in the club via transfers, higher wages, etc.

ETA - not to mention that finishing in CL spots means a bigger piece of the domestic and overseas broadcast buckets...

Slightly off topic but this seems like the best place for it...has anyone managed to register for the shuttle bus to Wood Green/ Alexandra Palace?

Not sure what you’re talking about tbh. All revenue is profit till you take the expenses out of running the club. So the CL money just goes in the pot with gate receipts and domestic TV money and commercial deals. Just because CL money has less expenditure to it is irrelevant. It will still be 1/10 of revenue. Rightly or wrongly clubs are ranked by Forbes on revenue.

And players only want to go to a CL club is becoming a bit of a myth as well. Aubameyang Lacazette Jorginho kepa kovacic etc all signed for Europa clubs in last season. It’s no longer an excuse not to sign top players.

I tried creating an account but it keeps giving me issues. Think I'll leave it for now and try again later.

Same - glad it's not just me
I managed to last night after loads of trial and error

Kept getting account not activated messages after clicking the link in the email, then kept trying to reset password which it let me eventually

I now seem to be able to log in with username only but email doesn't work. I eventually got in and managed to book it for Inter, Palace & City. Only got a confirmation email for City, but all 3 lots of tickets appear in my account. Really frustrating that there seems to be no customer service contact details in the FAQs either

My 1882 seat for the City game has cost me £105 and I had to buy 2 because my son-in-law, who has another 1882 seat, cannot go and I'm taking my grandson instead.
Now I'm trying to find out how to transfer son-in-law's ticket to grandson who is a hotspur+ member and is registered on my network. The club web site says they have this ticket transfer facility but I can't find out how to do so. This vital information is missing or else I am too thick to find it on the site.

Wouldn't worry about that mate, it's all automated turnstiles now, as long as you've got the ticket you're ok.

Couple of things mate;

1. The system isn't live yet
2. The game has to sell out to become active.

Should be good for you to transfer to your grandson next week.

P.S I remember you from many moons ago on a different forum, but I can't recall where!
