I get why we’ve let Doherty go instead of Emerson. Different qualities and all that.

A little bit concerned that we’ve just got rid of Kane’s golfing buddy though.
True, but when your best attribute is being Kane's golfing buddy, and we have a busy fixture list ahead - maybe its best he is not here for a few months...

Quite like this relationship we have with athletico. Feel both parties are winning and glad our players get to go to a good club.

dont mind Doherty and he deffo improved, but this is a weird transfer for a club with champions league ambitions, he is deffo short of that standard, don't think I've ever seen him put a decent cross in, whats going on at Atleti?

I prefer Emerson and what he may offer as a backup to Porro for the rest of the season. Much more defensively sound and if Porro can stay healthy/get up to speed fast, I see plenty of scenarios where Emerson spells Porro at the end of matches to see them out.

I’m baffled we’ve let him go. Need Porro to start like a house on fire and not get injured
50% Porro >>> 100% Doherty.

Where is all this revisionist history coming from all of the sudden? He had six good matches last season and he's been awful this season.

And what if he becomes 0% and we’re stuck with Emerson or forcing Kulu to play there.

I don’t like how we’ve gone from 3 to 2 when one of them is still Emerson.

Correct. He’s not been remotely the same player since the injury. Even before that it’s not like he was good - he just wasn’t abjectly awful. I’d much rather have Emerson than Doherty.

He's defo been one of our weirder signings.

Was about 60% pure, unadulterated dogshit, 20% fine and 20% absolutely top class wing back.

Emerson has been better than Doherty in my view. Emerson offers something different to Porro, he is a right back for all intents and purposes so slightly more defensive in his mindset etc

its true he improved but was still well under the required requisite, poor pace, stiff shape, and bad delivery (don't remember one decent cross from him)
