I’ve been one of Bissouma’s biggest proponents on here for absolutely ages. But would I like the profile of Nunes over Hojbjerg or Bentancur absolutely yes. Our 4 midfield options are good but I’d still like someone that is a genuinely great ball progressor. Skipp can punch passes through the lines and Bissouma can progress via dribbling but I still feel we need more. I guess we are stacked numerically with Sarr and Devine too but it’s still annoying to see players that would start for us go to clubs half the size of us.
The point that you’re missing is that your opinion of who would or should start for us is irrelevant.

We have one of the best managers in world football picking our team and he has chosen players that he thinks should start for us. Nunes isn’t one of them. Nothing else matters.

Now, if you’d rather that Bruno Lage was our manager and that Jorge Mendes was our de facto DoF, then that’s your prerogative and then you might well be right to say that Nunes should be in the starting line up.

But I think you’d be on your own in hoping for that scenario.

I can see your point but think that will change the balance in our existing team formation and the midfield options we have which are already pretty strong

I’m holding out that we are keeping our powder dry looking for 3/4 big signings in more pressing areas.

Zaniolo is one such option and we might also need some money for January if say Bastoni becomes avaialble or a top notch right wing back

Surely this means they are selling someone. Don’t typically just see them plonk down 50M. I think United almost have to buy Neves if they can’t get De Jong. We should try to gazzump them on that one but I think their desperation will lead to ridiculously silly price.

Im ngl I’m pretty depressed at the business other prem clubs are doing compared to us. We haven’t had the window I hoped we might.

It's a shame we aren't going for him. Think he'd potentially be a significant upgrade on Hojbjerg.
Well done, Wolves.

Neves - Nunes is better than every team bar city imo. If Bissouma doesn't start I can see us getting run over in the middle again this week.

Seriously guys have no fears we have diamonds within our mist Skipp Alfie D and in certain games we can deploy Deki centrally in a 3 man midfield.

It's a shame Zaniolo is a non run but imo that can be remedied with Zaha or Eze.

Seriously overrating them there.

Neves has weaknesses and Nunes will need to adapt to PL.
We only seem to get over ran when teams out number is in midfield Southampton did it best last season however when that happens we should be using our wing backs better.
