That was the first alarm bell when Mourinho was hired when he said 'I'm very happy with the squad I have and don't need to make changes'. That, to me said that he had no idea how our players had been performing under Poch and that they'd all suddenly shape up simply because he'd arrived.
But he didn’t mean it. He only said it as he was stuck with those players until the following summer and we were 14th and he was trying to boost their confidence and positivity. The next summer we signed 7 players. That says a lot. (And we were still crap). I think Mourinho would have changed more had Levy facilitated it (e.g. offload Dele and sign a replacement).
