What does he exactly do? If he is still our forwards coach then surely he should be sacked as what ever he is doing with them in training this season really isn't working! If anything our three strikers are getting worse by the game! Tonights performence by them was just woeful!

I thought this a litte while ago. But, not all the blame can be lumped on him. All our strikers are internationals, paid a lot of money and picked by Harry, not Les. So, even if Les was crap at his job, it can't just be his fault.

Could we register him as a player? My stream was showing old QPR footage in half time, I would very much like that player at the moment.

Fair point! Maybe it's harsh of me to say sack him. A bit of knee jerk reaction by myself to another inept display by our strikers!

In every Spurs training video that I have seen when the strikers are shown practicing it is Clive Alen who is woriking with them and no sight of Les. And those practices are lousy as F. The players look like they are putting no more than 60% effort - "We are here lets get it done so we can go home" - shots are weak, often not in the corners which makes them easy for saving, the striker dont have a defender on their back.

Blimey, Boris, you best get down to Spurs Lodge then and tell them where they are going wrong. I mean, i can't actually recall any video footage of Spurs training other than the 4 or 5 second snippits on news programs, or the tiny clips on the OS that pop up from time to time, so i'll have to assume you have access to hours of tape as i'd never be so bold as to assume i could make a judgement on our coaching techniques from these fleeting moments out of the thousands of hours they put in.

I mean, there's no way at that the guys will all just pose a bit for a press shoot, go through the formalities so that the papers can get a few pics etc., or that serious training sessions take place behind closed doors at any point, only ever when there are press in attendance, i understand that too.

Or maybe he has attended the open training sessions they do a few times a year for charity and seen it first hand?

Initially I thought he'd done some good work with Defoe, who started to show a willingness to lead the line and had built some strength up allowing him to hold the ball up.

Defoe really should work harder though as he's at a disadvantage being a short-ass.

But alas he seems to have reverted back to type.

He can be top-notch but I think he has a poor mentality as he keeps reverting to the same old crap, i.e. powder-puffing the ball directly at the goal keeper and not offering much else apart from 'running about' and 'providing lots of energy'.

If we're going to play 4-2-3-1 / 4-3-3 / 4-5-1 then we really need to invest in some decent forwards who are 5'11 at the shortest and have good all-round play as well as goalscoring.

If we use 4-4-2 we need a forward that provides a bit more link-up play to play alongside a decent 5'11 plus player.

Went a bit off topic there, but kinda linked to Sir Les' training with Defoe who is not progressing but in fact digressed again at present.

I miss Sir Les. He knew where the goal was.

Not for us he didn't - his goals per game ratio was pretty poor in comparison to his stints at Newcastle and QPR!
