I just worry he is using us as a training base to get fit for Wales in the Euros. He doesn’t seem interested in exerting himself for Spurs.

Absolute waste of time. We'll pay him 11m (?) and Real will pay him double that. Fucking disgrace really. If he's fit for Wales after all this we'll know we've been mugged.

99% of Bale's issues are in his head.
Every slight niggle becomes a major issue for him.
Sack him off back to Madrid... let them deal with him once and for all

Sadly, it's the end of the road for Bale at Tottenham.
I was holding out hope that he will come back to his best or at least 80% of what we used to see. I think playing in an empty stadium has not help, hearing his name chanted could have given him motivation to compete. Sadly it's too late now, every time i see him play, he's stuck in first gear.

Here's my advise to Bale, take off that wig, maybe you'll get your football back too. You know what they say, you need to sacrifice something to get something back....but honestly, that man bun is just ridiculous and distracting, just shave ur fucking head off if you're going bald.

It is a real shame when you consider the excitement on here and no doubt amongst the fan base in general and it doesn't look promising now. The club doesn't have a huge amount of money at the moment and clearly there is little value for the club in this deal.

Wow, I can't believe the stick this guy is getting on here! This guy put us in the big boys play ground and rightfully got his move to a bigger club. Look at what he's achieved since leaving compared to what Harry has!
This is all on the club, not Bale. I don't remember reading anywhere that he was pleading with the club to come back. The club/Levy chose to bring the guy back. They saw the crap that went on in Madrid, they know his injury record but they most likely thought that the return of Bale would increase revenue.
There were so many posts on here and even from some of those berating him now that was pleading for the club to bring him back.
Many of them stated how frightening the front 3 of Bale Son and Kane would be in the PL.
I didn't think we should have taken him back when the rumors started and I'm not going to talk ill of the guy now. It's the same with Erikson, I don't think we should be looking at taking him back. He did his service for us and has moved on, so should we

Fair points - it is a shame that it hasn't worked out and yes, maybe in hindsight we should have known that things are rarely great the second time around.

I wrote off Kane when he was young, I wrote off Sissoko when he was shit (ter?), I wrote off Tanguy only last season and I've slowly learnt that I know DICK about football. I genuinely had a hard on for 3 months when Bale rejoined but now I stand on the brink of making similar statements as I did the other guys.... Its such a shame.

He'll look better in the Euros, mainly because he will be picked to play for 90 mins in every game and he'll be played as a luxury player who's not expected to defend - Hard to believe now but he used to be a left back - and can save his bursts of energy for his own 'moments'. I'm sure we could play him like that but it would ruin Jose's entire footballing philosophy and piss off a lot of his teammates.

I fear he'll leave before we ever get to see the lineup I dreamt about at the start of the season....

Champions League winners 2022
Hugo
Serge Toby Dier Sergio
Pierre Tanguy
Bale Gio Sonny
Kane

Something in my eye, gotta go......

He hasn't been given a fair shot. Think with the talent he has we should have persisted with him for a 3 or 4 PL game run at least to see what he could get with some consistency and faith. As Redknapp said a couple of weeks back, think we are playing people ahead of him that wouldn't be fit to lace his boots if we could get him firing.

Having said that it's obvious he doesn't fit Jose's philosophy so yet again you have to come back to the recruitment process at the club. I wish we'd stop buying players that Levy and Hitchen want but clearly the managers don't and start just working to the managers lists.

For his sake I hope he heads back to Real soon - too many people here are too quick to jump on the 'hes crap' bandwagoon because he hasn't torn up any trees in the odd Europa and FA cup chances he's been given.

I dare say mourinho is fully aware of the bale situation, but is pretending to be mystified to distract from the defeat.
Bale wouldn't have been brought on anyway. And rightly so from what he has shown us so far.

But he hasn’t got out of first gear , he has been a bit disappointing .
He’s got more talent in his left nadger than the rest of the squad , he’s not really tried .
That seems fact ? I’ve not seen him break a sweat

Well according to some on here, he's gained another nut rather than giving his left nut for the club. My personal view is we should have left him at Madrid. He gave us a great platform before he left and we should have left it at that

I think the point is that, whilst we shouldn’t necessarily expect him to pull up trees, we should expect to at least see some evidence that he wants to.

The odd glimpse, and let’s be honest that is all we’ve really seen, from a player of his stature and ability is simply not enough.

I’ll not slag him off, I never slag Spurs players off, but his showing so far has been disappointing in the extreme really.

What we are all unaware of is how he is applying himself in training. It’s been well documented how Ronaldo, despite everything he has achieved in the game, is first on the training pitch, last off it and is one of the biggest grafters in between. It’s not unreasonable to expect a player if Bale’s ability and stature to at least emulate this kind of dedication, particularly as Ronaldo was the benchmark he set for himself. So if he’s not doing the work, then he’s not earning the right to play. His reputation is irrelevant if this is the case.

I do hope he’s not got the ‘Billy big bollox’ attitude, but it’s very difficult to not think that this is the case here.
