Yeah, this is a laughable post in the context of things, yeah I'm probably taking my toys home and going to have a sulk about things, but I'll put my dummy back in and return to be a better poster and human being when West Ham rolls round next weekend.

So on that note, have at it -

I'm fucking tired of being singled out on here if I am honest.

Tell you what you can go through the post history if you like and see where I've defended the manager and where I've agreed in plenty of debate when people have balance and valid criticisms to both sides of these arguments in here. I'm tired of being attacked personally when plenty of folk will jump to the defence of others when I supposedly do it. The abuse of the ratings system when I've been thoroughly rounded on for doing the same thing and overall, because I have taken stance to defend the bloke in charge of the club we all supposedly support.

Fucked if all the folk in here giving it the full beans when it comes to management and Mourinho were is some circles the same bunch who routinely used to have a go at Poch as well when he wasn't doing the things they wanted.

Those who shout the loudest and all that.

Perhaps it's best I take myself off here for a week or so and come back with my dummy and my idealist shit and just enjoy what's left of the season. Less head aches for all concerned.

Toodle fucking pip!

Leicester have a recruitment team and philosophy so Rodgers won’t have sole say either, same as here. It’s just their recruitment team is far better.
Well certainly that must go a long way for a manager. That's part of the Idea that there isn't one single issue at Spurs that can be resolved by one action.

Ultimately Levy is just far too long in the tooth to cede control now. He’s a control freak who can’t change. People say bring in Rangnick or Campos as sporting directors, but it only works if Levy gives them agency to affect real change.

Exactly! Not that I'm a footballing genius at all but that was my thought. What is the point in bringing in a DoF under those circumstances? Better to concentrate on the scouting network.

Not exactly fair. Which top club had ever given Redknapp a chance before we did? Plus as a crucial detail you left out is that he won the FA Cup with Portsmouth back in the days when the FA cup was the exclusive property of Chelsea, Arsenal and Man utd.
Yes- that's part of the point I made "instilled confidence is a short term fix at best". So you can maybe win a cup or even in the case of Leicester, a title - but it is still very difficult . As you point out, it is the top teams who tend to end up winning the titles and trophies. My view is that is becuase they have the most self confident players.

Almost all of the players in the prem have enough ability to be great, what they lack is self confidence (and also the footballing brains) to become great.

Every time we've had a Sporting Director, they have had considerable power and influence.

Yep something I keep banging on about . Just imagine how many cheap nuggets the Soton scouting team have unearthed . Boggles the mind....and in here many say we must buy the big expensive players to move forward. Recruitment is so key , why are we not producing ?

To all those people saying Jose should be given time and see out the season, can I ask why?
A lot of evidence has been put forward by the so called "Jose Out" brigade as to why he should go.
Can anyone offer any evidence as to why he should be given more time?

I'm not going to accept "he's won things in the past"

Anyone?

I would say the season has been pretty crazy result wise and we are only 1 point off Liverpool if we win our game in hand. We have played the better teams twice now and we are still in two cup competitions. Our midfield and attack are really starting to gel Ndombele and Hojbjerg are starting to form a great partnership but defence still needs to be sorted but Reggie and Aurier coming back will help that a lot. I can only see improvement for the rest of the season and we are still well in with a shout of top 4. We could still finish the season in the top 4, and winning two cups! That would be one of our best seasons in decades.

Lets not forget Jose said "he would never like to be the manager of Spurs. and "I would not take the job because I love Chelsea supporters too much" .Quotes to haunt.

He rejected us twice in the past apparently, Jose was approached in 2007 (outstanding contract said he couldn't ) and 2015 (before Utd).
We have him now and really need to back him (midseason). The cup final will be the show piece where the whole country will be watching us and judging. Europe is on the horizon also, lets see how we get on in that. Players coming back hopefully will make us better. City was accepted as a right off so wouldn't take too much form that game.

This my biggest bugbear. For a guy who loves saving a penny or two, the fact that he’s never overseen investment into turning our recruitment operation into one of the most widespread and advanced in the world is crazy. He says he wants to create stars, but we hardly ever uncover new ones while other clubs have overtaken us in that regard.

Serge and Sergio almost back from injury too? Toby + 1 at CB in the league and let them get on with it. It'll be what Bus Conductor used to refer to as "lottery football", but we'd win more games than not.

Aston Villa’s has also been decent. Martinez, Cash, Konsa, Barkley, Watkins, so many young English signings that are working well for them.

Strange one not playing Rodon at CB yesterday for me. Also think Dier next to Hoyjberg in a cm role would benefit us more than having him play CB. Would also mean no place in that team for Moussa, who adds nothing. Davies has regressed significantly this season, we desperately need Reggy back fit. Lo Celso missing for most of the season also a huge loss to our attacking intent. Dele has done nothing for the past 1.5 years to warrant being included in this team and shows no signs of doing so in his few cameos.
I’m neither pro Jose or against, I just want to see us play well and compete, but he’s not had the rub of the green with injuries to key players at crucial times last season and this season. We need to rebuild for sure, but I think with a fully fit squad to choose from, we’d genuinely be challenging for a CL spot.

let’s face it, City are on some run and look nailed on to with the league so yesterday was always going to be a long shot to get anything out of the game.

the reality of things is that we’re one final already, still in with a shout at the Europa and with only Utd and Arsenal left to play out of the so called big six this season, results will improve and European football next season is realistic. Sacking him now just doesn’t make any sense for me, surely he’s worth keeping around until the seasons end. If then we have nothing to show for it, then look to replace. But if he does win something then like it or not, he’s done exactly what he was brought in to do, win silverware.

Yep, SC would've been over the moon with most of those. Not that the opinion of SC matters in the grand scheme of things, but in the summer of no signings the reaction to having signed no-one then being linked with Grealish for £20m was brutal.

Possibly but also we need to sign players who fit with a managers and the clubs philosophy, too often we seem to just sign players just because they’re a good opportunity take Sissoko & Bergwijn as examples. Both ok signings but both ‘opportunities’ and in both cases I feel the money could be spent better elsewhere.

don’t know why we moved away from buying young British talent model, it was working really well over the last 10 years:
Robinson
Walker
Rose
Dawson
Trippier
Carrick
Jenas
Bale
Lennon
Defoe

Players like : Grealish, Maddison, Watkins all then they were in the championship are the ones we should’ve been going for with a sprinkling of bigger money signings from abroad, instead we’ve focused too much on bigger name signings like ‘Aurier, Lucas, Lo Celso, Ndombele etc etc’ some good players in their own right but I think we could’ve easily got better value for money our signings are so scattergun and it’s a massive issue for any manager we have

i still dont get why he still plays with caution he knows our defence is shit and instead of being on the front foot in most games he relies on them too much to keep it tight. he needs to understand we can play 8 defenders but if they consist of dier, sanchez, davies, doherty, aurier it wont be keeping a clean sheet. play higher up the pitch get a good lead and then we can slow the tempo down.

i find it staggering that a manager that is supposedly still world class cant see it this and why he persists with caution. again yesterday moura comes off for sissoko why ffs what has he done recently to deserve minutes. that's why i believe time is up with him, he is so lucky we are in the final otherwise i think levy would of pulled the plug by now.

I mean no one should feel like this but you do tend to engage a lot with people who tend to wind you up and often bite, best thing you could do is use the ignore function, I've stopped engaging with so many clowns on here it's made my experience much better - you obviously like coming on here so I'd advise that, hope you haven't gone for too long.

Unfortunately bar the odd line or two, there has been little to suggest that he is in his final days. Nothing really in media apart from him having at least until the end of season. Clutching at straws if we think levy is making a decision before June imo.
