Not pick him?
Replace him with the guy who struggled and created at least one of the goals that knocked us out of the FA Cup on Wednesday night? How about the Championship player who has had mistakes in his game, given the fact he came up from the Championship ...

Yeah it's so fucking easy, yet the squad is riddled with them ... It's the managers fault all the time though ...

We have two choices. Get to the summer, let Jose root out the bad eggs and bring in some people who might be more reliable. Two, get a new manager in and begin the whole process again, where the new manager will need time to find out who those problem players are, and then we go through that process anyway.

I'm not entirely convinced that Jose can take us all the way once he's done that, but I do believe he can help us get rid of the ones that can't be trusted. Then we can reevaluate.

The reality is we're going nowhere with or without Jose until the summer at the very least.

A caretaker isn't going to stop Hugo letting soft shots in or our CBs from being a comedy show.

I don't see us going anywhere under Jose to be honest either but without an ideal replacement available I'd rather stick with him for now, and I basically lost faith in him after Brighton and Chelsea. Would be just like him to luck his way to the Carabao.

I see your point but I believe that part of the reason the players are making so many mistakes is because of Jose. We have seen it since time began, new manager comes in all of a sudden players stop making mistakes and sharpen up (for a while anyway).

The amount of mistakes recently suggests systematic issues behind the scenes.

Spurs in a nutshell:

"We should pay big money for top players and stop cheaping out"

*buys top player for top money who turns out to be a bag of shit. bargain player turns out shit hot*

"We should get a top manager and show some ambition"

*gets top manager on top money who turns out to be a bag of shit. probably gets in underwhelming replacement who turns out shit hot*

Get a caretaker in for the rest of the season. Mason, Ledders, doesn’t really matter. Play some football and have a real go in the Europa. New manager at the end of the season, hopefully with a CL place.
Like I said before.....Ryan Mason, a youth player introduced to the team which had Kane, Dier, Lloris, Davies as older heads is somehow going to get more of a tune out of these players than an experienced coach??

He won't get the respect and he will be thrown well in the deep end.

Ffs how many games do we need to lose before levy pulls the plug. By the time he gets the summer kane will want to leave and we will have a front 3 of lucas son n bergjwyn. Sack him now he cant wait until we lose the cup final by then it will be too late.

A new manager won't make this shower better, if he did, then the majority of them are frauds.

Unfortunately, We've just got to go through the rest of the season watching from behind the sofa, scratching about for the odd win.

Just give me 2 things, best West Ham next up, then get to 40 points...

There are so many things to consider. I think the simplistic version is two choices, however I don't think it's as simple as it seems and I really don't trust Levy to get this right.

Every appointment he makes seems like a 'stab in the dark' and has no continuation to it.

What route does he go down next? History tells us he chooses the 'potential up and comer' type? Or is it the 'bring back the good feeling' type?

I honestly don't know and I've become very apathetic with it all.

Essentially, Poch made us all fall in love with the club in a big way again. Yes, Levy did wonders off the pitch with the stadium and business side of things, but ultimately we get our kicks from what happens on the pitch. And Poch raised that bar very high.

Should he have won something? Maybe
Should he have been sacked? I believe so
Could he have been supported better? We will never know

But the truth is since ENIC and Levy have been here we have only once looked like a top quality side for a sustainable period....and that was nothing to do with Levy's vision or foresight. He supposedly wanted LVG before Poch, which tells you exactly what you should know. He IS NOT GOOD at picking coaches.

Consider that Jol was not brought in to become coach, his first option was a disaster and Redknapp was an emergency manager that worked out better than expected.

The record speaks for itself.

Not bothered about CL football then?
Like we have a chance anyway.

City and United look nailed on.
Leicester are starting to peel away
Chelsea will probably sneak in, unless Liverpool sort themselves out.

Even with a lift in mood, I don't see us managing the consistency.

It's the same fucking shit on here.

The players are fucking teflon, until they're not.
They weren't at it under Poch at the end and they certainly aren't at it now. I'[ve said this before, more than once, there's a very long list of very good footballers at our club. On their day. The trouble is, far too many of them don't have 'their day' often enough or anywhere near it.

This cannot be just the managers fault and by that I mean any manager, not just Mourinho. There needs to be a ruthless culling. So i've looked at it along the lines of who or where do we most urgently need upgrading or changing.

For me and for a variety of reasons, we need rid of Sissoko, Winks, Lamela, Toby, Sanchez, Dier, Moura and Lo Celso. You could probably add Davies and Aurier. There are some who people want rid of who I think deserve a little longer, such as Bergwijn, Doherty and Dele, just to see if the new manager can get them going again.

So, the ones i'd get rid of first, would be Sissoko, Toby, Lamela, Sanchez and maybe Lo Celso, that's five, we'd be doing well to sell four or five so I think that's perhaps an optimistic number. That would leave the rest, Winks, Dier, Moura who either buck their ideas up or they are next out the door. We can move them on when the process allows it. Winks and Dier are still at the stage of their careers where we can get use out of them, I'm not sure we can afford to lose them just yet, when so many other players need moving on.

The trouble is, I think i'm being a bit fanciful............it doesn't work like that, it's going to be the work of several transfer windows, you cannot just get rid of 10 players and sign the same number of replacements, it's always going to be a gradual process so we might see two or three go and one or two come in, it's going to have to be judiciously and shrewdly done, age will play a big part in it.

If I were being ultra harsh, i'd say Sissoko, Lamela and Sanchez either don't offer enough, aren't consistent enough or aren't regularly fit enough, we cannot carry these any more, tough decisions need to be made and for me, they should be the first casualties. And that's without taking into consideration those who are the fag end of their careers, such as Toby and possibly Hugo.

Fuck me, all i meant to do was press the agree button :D

I mean, it’s really not that surprising is it? See if he improves by summer then if we haven’t, get someone who might not come mid season. As mentioned in a previous post there are clauses in his contract supposedly so firing him if we don’t qualify for CL and don’t win a cup will be cheaper no doubt. I don’t particularly like it, but it kind of feels like we are passing the point of no return for the season. And there’s still a slim chance he may turn it around.

One of those being vs west ham who will be well up for their cup final. Can’t see us avoiding defeat against them. If anything it was against them it all went wrong.

Interested to know why would you sell Lo Celso? Especially before someone like Winks. I know Lo Celso's injuries have seriously hampered him so far, but he's twice as talented as Winks. If we want to improve the squad we need to keep our talented players. GLC deserves more time to overcome his fitness issues.
