Just look at how the media are trying to suggest this guy is a bad fan for pointing out problems we had/have with their emoji choices. If there’s anyone who should understand this guy and many of us banging on about silverware, it’s the media who kept using it as a stick to beat us with ?

It's only words thus far, but a good interview and I liked that he brought up passion as I think it's been lacking these last few months. Not sure I believe him on the youth, mind.

The pictures are weird and the video is weird and i feel weird. I thought it was a good idea but it's weird.

It's like finally getting together with that girl you kind of always liked and is hot and you thought a lot about banging but now you have to spend all day together and go to Tesco with her and do the washing and stuff and its all so fucking weird.

Its mostly weird because after all that thinking youve decided to take her to Tescos and to do the washing instead of banging her.

Who's this Clive **** on SSN? Its wankers like this that are the reason we are so disliked. What a knob.

I hope he's a member here so he can see that I think he's a ****.
Is he that guy who was on his hands and knees praising Poch when we reached the CL final?

Have not said anything since this all broke as needed time to process what had happened. So many people and so many opinions as why things went down the way they did. However it was clear a change was needed and now that has happened we can all look forward rather than back. I try not to get invested in decisions that are beyond my control so was a little numb to what was going on with Poch as it did not matter if I wanted him to stay or to go.

I said it before that I would feel uncomfortable with JM in charge as while he is no doubt a serial winner and a top level manager he also can infect a club with his own special brand of toxicity. I do feel a sense of unease with him in charge and no doubt that will pass with time should things go well. I dread if things do not but will have to wait and see how it all shakes out

The bottom line is that I support Tottenham Hotspur, not individuals per se but the club. The club is always more than the sum of its parts. So while I go forward with a certain apprehension of what JM will bring, my love for the club burns as bright today as ever. As I have said before any Spurs fan who can support the team with George Graham as manager can support us through anything.

Almost right, Joe Lewis wanted him from then until now, and ofcourse Daniel was in agreement. But driven by Joe Lewis. And he has a very good budget, with assurances his signings will be done in good enough time. And summer window, before they return for pre-season. His key signings that is. I expect from educated early guess, he will go in for two of his countrymen.

Already Ruben Dias (Benfica) & Fernandes is doing the rounds from Portuguese journos

Not weird at all. It's like you said, him and Campos knowing each other. He's probably been keeping tabs on them, as they are Portuguese.

But he’s got to bring Campos in too surely? That’s the link between his new coaches and him. They’ve never been at the same clubs before.

Well, if youre Eriksen, Toby or whoever else has been putting a half hearted shift in , coming back from international break to find Jose Mourinho waiting for you instead of Poch is certainly going to be a kick up the backside.

Or a welcome sight. They are superb footballers who have hit a low patch. Perhaps that was Poch made.

Biggest difference is Mourinho won't stand for it. Poch kept quiet, worked with it, but if Mourinho has been promised something and Levy/the board goes back on it, all hell will break loose.

Agree but I truly believe Levy and Co will just move onto someone else in that situation.....really don't think it bothers them and no problem making a quick, clinical decision like they have done over the last day. Mourinho kicks up a stink, things start going pear shaped, they'll just get rid and move onto the next manager. They know Mourinho has form for it and will have gone into this knowing there is a good chance he stays here 2-3 years max and that's him done.

I don't believe the way we operate in the transfer market will particularly change. Yes, if this Luis Campos chap arrives it may definitely help get oil the wheels in terms of getting deals done and help signing young quality players before they become to expensive. Also sounds as though Mourinho trusts him so no massive concerns over their working relationship. However that all said and done, Levy is Levy and just very little chance of fundamentally changing the way we work in the market.

Every new manager gets these assurances though herc, levy usually lets them down in following up on them. If he does it again here then this whole appointment is pointless.

What young players have we got coming through right now?, because as far as I know we only have Parrot and Skipp, Tanganga maybe good enough but he'll need a year away on loan. Can't wait for the narrative that Jose is killing the kids even though Poch wasn't exactly blooding them but in all honesty I don't think they're good enough for first team football yet.
I reckon he was referring to the personalities of the academy players more than anything. Winks, Skipp, Kane, Mason, Walker-Peters all good honest grafters with their heads in the right place. The work of McDermott on cultivating strong characters shouldn't go unnoticed.

Everbody and their mother knows about this man; he probably garners more attention than any coach on earth right now, which means if nothing else we will be in the spotlight for his entire tenure here. So, questions:

1). Are you happy/pleased/content/relieved or- conversely- are you beyond disgusted now that "The Special One" is taking the reign from Poch?

Happy! We needed a change and now have an elite manager to go with our elite stadium and elite training facilities. Shame it ended the way it did with Poch but he did himself no favours and it's a result driven business.

2). Do you think his appointment will be beneficial to us in the short term? How about over the long term?

Instant impact! It's a complete reset of everyone and they have a reason to enjoy playing again. What player would not want to work under Mourinho? If we win something in the short-term and this continues then it will become the long-term by default.

3). Do you reckon he will play boring, lockdown, 1-nil to the Tottenham-style football or do you think he'll produce a good product on the pitch?

I'd have taken that in the Champions League final!!! I think he will adapt the team based on the opposition but eventually, I think he will get a system that starts making the opposition try and adapt to us rather than the other way around.

4). Which players- if any- do you think will benefit from his appointment, and which players do you think will suffer with him taking the helm?

Every player benefits because it's a clean slate. If I were to put a name then the first that comes to mind is Dier who will benefit. As for suffer, it all depends on their attitude and how they respond. They might have already marked their cards and Jose already have plans for next season.

5). Do you predict a trophy- or trophies- under him?

Yes, the man is a serial winner. I think he will look at this season and go all out for one of the cups! Something Poch never did!

Lastly, what are you thoughts in general about his hiring? My Ars*nal mate reckoned he'd never come to Spurs because of Levy's tightfistedness, but now he's here so, yeah...is this a good thing or will it all end in tears (or both)?

The fact is Poch was never first choice. It was Van Gaal who agreed to come and then ended up going to Utd. We got lucky with Poch and it worked out great but for all the best times and getting close. When it really, really mattered. Time and time again we failed.

If we really want to step up our game then you need an elite manager.

Now we have one :)

Difference is, DL has no choice. Because Mourinho will let it be known, and possibly walk. And sure he would have that all in his contract. I said few weeks ago, he is so meticulous. He gives a full and comprehensive dossier to the board, that gives road map, with wages etc. So all club need to do is ratify it.
