Might be another player we will struggle to sell if he underperforms, although someone like West Ham will probably take him. He was good in my fantasy league last time he was there, not sure what to think of this. Rather we give more minutes to Gil or Lo Celso, or even Dele perhaps, but if we sell couple of midfielders he would probably be ok.

He's 29. I don't think resale value comes in to it really.

Only been linked to him and we are already thinking about how to sell him if he underperforms.

I would rather sell Gio and Dele and get someone new in, they have both had chances to show they have improved and not. Gil I would keep, but getting lingard in to replace the others is an improvement IMO.

Would love for this to happen, as I've said before could be the player to make the difference for either top 4 or a trophy

He did more in a 6 month spell at West Ham than most of our attack minded midfielders have done in 3 years.

Not sure on this transfer though, if you got him at his West Ham level then yeah sure but hes hardly played this season?

Absolutely not. After his pretending to play the flute goal celebration and crossing his arms for the hammers sign against us last season he destroyed any chance of playing for the mighty Spurs. Oh and he’s shit as well.

Got to have faith in Conte I suppose (and that if we're talking to him its because Conte wants him) but he's basically been good for like one 6 month stretch in 4 years at this point.

Idk, not one that personally convinces me a ton, but I guess we'll see.

Is he actually an upgrade on Dele?

Will he run about on the pitch and put in the effort. Yeah. So he is an upgrade IMO.

Is he the level I would want us to be going for? Probably not, but on a free in the summer it could save money for better options in other areas.

On a free, yeah maybe. Not a player I would particularly want, but maybe if we are losing Bergwijn and Dele this makes a degree of sense as a backup player, whilst we spend the money on other options. Let's face it, I doubt we would be getting in Lingard to be a 1st choice player, just a capable backup who would get more minutes with us than at United.

Running around the pitch and putting in effort is not a stick you can beat Dele with. Based on Lingard's form for West Ham last season, however, I'd say he'd be a marked upgrade on what we are currently getting from Dele.

When we were linked with him last season my West Ham Mates were taking the piss. Then he went there and I took the piss. Then he was probably their best player along with Antonio and they took the piss. Then he turned them down and I took the piss. If we get him and he performs like he did for them then I get the last laugh.

I'd take him if Conte wants him. If we lose Bergwijn and Dele he makes sense, plus he's homegrown.

Did he play much while at United?

Looking at Transfermarkt, seemed to be on the bench a lot.

Wonder why? He seemed to do well at West Ham.

Hang on - flute celebration a la Gazza for Rangers?

Because nothing at United is gained on merit. He performs better than Rashford, Ronaldo, Cavani and Sancho but because he isn’t a “superstar” the club doesn’t give him a chance.

This isn’t me saying he’s better than them, more along the lines of theyve all been terrible this season and shown fuck all.
