board have nobody but themselves to blame should it happen, maybe then they will realise how they have cost us when they aren't receiving the money CL would have generated us, massive summer ahead either way

I honestly think that only a true, actual Spurs fan would know that what's happening to us is what was always going to happen to us. You don't buy A SINGLE FUCKING PLAYER IN EITHER WINDOW and lo and behold-- it comes back to bite you on the ass. Life has a way of punishing (as opposed to rewarding) foolishness.

Once we didn't even fucking draw with West Ham I could see the whole edifice starting to crumble. It's not my thread that destroyed us-- it's us that destroyed us.

If we don't make Top 4 I will be fucking ruined mentally/emotionally, because- I'm sorry- but this year our three "competitors" for those two coveted, major-difference-making Champions League spots are straight-up garbage.

Ars*nal? Chelscum? Manure? Mate- you're having' a laugh.

IMO this was a season where a team as talented and well-coached as ours would literally have to work- and I mean literally WORK- to not make top 4.

I am beyond disgusted; I am heartsick. I have decided that the only answer is to cut my balls off and become a eunuch, because eunuchs aren't normally football fans. I just have to find the right YouTube instructional 'cause if I don't do it right and am too exhausted and/or out of it to clean up after myself, my wife'll be angry that I left yet another mess.

The doomsday scenario:

-We lose the next three, or...
-We draw the next two and lose the last one, or...
-Something else unfathomable happens, i.e., some combination of us both flaming out of the Champions League AND somehow, someway missing out on top 4.

Or how about this scenario: Ars*al and Man U finish above us (so not only CL for the red vermin but "St. Totteringham's Day" to boot) and then Chelsea win the Europa League...or hell, the scum finish in 5th with us 6th and they win the effing EL Cup! So yeah, basically five of the top 6 are all smiles whilst we are sat there, unable to speak, think, react, breathe, blink...

Let's face it-- after Chels**** won the Champions League Final by beating Bayern Munich in extra time in a final played in Munich-- and this after beating Pep's Barcelona (you know, the one with the most in-form ever Xavi, Iniesta and Messi [who, need it be remembered, missed a fuh-king penalty kick]) and, to boot, was a match that saw the blue vermin being down a goal until the very bitter freaking end and yet somehow, someway, they pulled out the win in extra time, thereby making us the lone victims of the "4th place winner"-curse...

...and of course Lasagnegate...and Martin Fulop...and Chris Foy @ Stoke...

I mean seriously-- as far as snatching soul crushing end-of-seasons from the jaws of pure joy let's face it: we have priors...

So yeah- what if this season is yet another in the pantheon of misery? What would you do? Would you be able to chalk it up to an incredibly unlucky and incredibly stupid, wasteful campaign, one from which we'll surely return stronger than ever, or would you go all Sylvia Plath?

Me, I'm already clearing out the garage to make sure the car actually fits and, simultaneously getting my affairs in order. The thought of Toby and Eriksen fucking off to "better" clubs...the thought of the Champions League anthem being played just before Guendouzi leads a revamped/retooled scum attack at the Parc des Princes...the thought of us getting ready to fly out to Albania for our first group stage match...all this fills me with the kind of dread I'm not sure my 51-year-old ticker can withstand. Losing to an Ajax team that I know we would fucking CRUSH were we anywhere near full strength would do my head in- yes- but I could handle it; flaming out of a Top-4 finish- one that's practically been gift wrapped for us- now that I actually don't think I could handle...

I wonder if there's a book that would take $ on a Tottenham-double-meltdown-misery parlay? That way I'll at least be able to leave something to my kids...
This post sums up exactly how I feel, what I think about most of the time and what is the quintessential definition of a Spurs fan. I thank you, Sir for writing down basically what I have been thinking most of the last 3 months.

The lack of transfers, the endless stadium delays, the 13 losses, the away form, and the constant injuries have really tempered any expectations of glory and fully prepared me for a miserable end to the season.

Aside from the Man City tie in the CL, the second half of this season has been abysmal. A lot of "stars" are just coasting at this point, and the prospect of an overhaul is about the only thing I'm looking forward to.

Maybe we raise our levels in Amsterdam, but the team just looks physically and emotionally done.

Only Tottenham could make a dogs dinner of having a team this talented. We've got two brilliant centre backs, Eriksen, Alli, Son, Kane. Rose ain't bad either. Our first eleven is as good as anyone's in the division. It is definitely up there with Liverpool's and Manchester City's.

All we had to do was sign a couple of decent players to bulk out the squad, push the first XI and allow them to rest too. There are hundreds on this planet in our price range that would have improved our bench and rotation options at the very least.

Poch has done the hard part, but on the easy bit whoever is responsible has fucked it. If we'd got a decent forward and a midfield player we could have been on for the title, never mind an easy top 4 finish.

Good luck in the overhaul department because we’ll refuse to budge on the prices. Cos it makes business sense to keep paying for people to be annual multi-millionaires for doing fuck all except stopping us from signing players who actually might give a fuck.
