How must Aaron Lennon be feeling right now

Would play Dempsey on the right every single time over Lennon.

Lennon is quick but hasn't done enough to warrant a starting place over the last few seasons - starts more due to a lack of options.

His crossing is abysmal and he rarely does much more than cut in and pass it. Need more attacking options and Dempsey surely will be exactly that - just look at his record.

His average game is still head and shoulders above anyone else in the England squad. I understand the "who gives a fuck" side of things coz I've certainly leaned to the Club side or the Club vs Country debate for quite a few years. That said, I also believe a happy confident player is better than one who's unhappy and having some self confidence issues which I'm amussing is the case when he looks at the dross stood in his way of adding to his England caps. Just hope he uses this to motivate himself into having some outstanding matches for us
insomnia, long time no see. I must say that my issue with Lennon is that he is not the effective player he was say four five years ago when teams didnt know how to play against his pace. In my opinion for the last season or so he has been playing on reputation as defenders now know how to deal with him and he not being able to use his now diminishing speed, he is not the player he once was.

I don't rate Lennon. He looks alot better than his delivery suggests. He is very technically weak; otherwise it's hard to explain how someone with so much pace produces so little goals/assists. For his sake I hope a club comes in with a decent offer that we can accept. I feel he needs to move on to improve.

The thing with Lennon is, he's got it in him to be explosive, but he doesn't have the balls to do it. For me you have to risk losing it a couple of times, for the opportunity to skin your defender, which then sows the seed and then creates the space for you. Lennon instead thinks it's better to play it safe and knock it to a team-mate. Which isn't wrong, but he does it too often for a man of his dribbling ability (or getting past a defender ability anyway).

I agree but he has been ripping defenders ever since his hamstring injury in 2010, I dont think he mentally recovered from that imo

How goes it boyzie like you say long time etc...whilst I can see where you're coming from on one angle with Azza, I feel we don't realize how important he is until he's injured.I'd love him to have the gay abandon he had a few years ago but feel he had that knocked out of him,to try and ensure he wasn't a one trick pony etc..He offers more now in his overall game but like you,I still hanker for the youthfull Azza that just ran at 'em.

If, as I suspect, Dempsey takes his place in the starting line-up, I can see Lennon making a massive contribution as a sub. Full-backs aren't going to like the prospect of seeing him coming on after they've been running around for 60/70 minutes.

Roy does like to include his reds,... not sure that makes a direct impact here, but it is noteworthy. I do like to see Spurs' players NOT getting injured in international matches, so no probs here (y)

I think it is a decision made by the FA rather than any particular manager. It has been the same with Micah Richards.

Dont know why, but I'm sure someone else out there can find out

I have no interest in the England side anymore, i feel sorry for Lennon ( as he should be in the squad) however i want to see a fit Lennon playing for us this season so i prefer not to see him in the squad.

After the way Capello treated him, I rather suspect he's ceased giving a single fuck about England. I know I would.

Lennon needs to add goals to his arsenal, he does not do enough to warrant an England start. That said, neither do Oxo or Walnut.

The Ox should be in the squad, others not so much.

Loses his place in the England team to that 1 in 10 useless steaming pile of turd Walcott, and then when Feo pulls out of the squad through illness his replacement is a 17 year old who's played 3 or so senior matches for a seriously shite Liverpoor team?
Let's just hope it fires him up to have a blinder on saturday. The mind does boggle though, must be said

He feels a few million pounds richer than then and sort of relieved that he isn't being rated 3 to 4 out of ten in the Sun the day after England under perform and / or go out on penalties after Glenn Johnson decides he knows better on the right wing.

Not so sure what his tattoos have to do with it. He might want to play for his country or not but he should be ahead of Sterling in my opinion.

Ah yes, but Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain and Raheem Sterling play for Arsenal and Liverpool and Cleverley plays for Man U. They MUST be good.

To answer the thread title:

Pretty relieved not to be anywhere near this shower-of-shite of an England team.
